Thought it would be nice for us to be in one spot and able to chat about the similar stages of planning. Smiley smile.

What have you sorted so far?

Me! Mine is Thursday 14th August 2014. I've paid the deposit on the venue, bought stationary in to make Save the Date Cards and paid a deposit on my wedding dress. I know it's early but I fell in love with the first one I tried on. I tried loads more after that one but didn't like any of them nearly as much! I'm waiting to hear back from a friend who is also a photographer as he may be on holiday at the time of the wedding. Started to make enquiries about music, hair and makeup. Bridesmaid dresses are causing me the most trouble at the moment! Where are you up to?

Hello! I'm hoping to be an August 2014 bride!!! My church and venue both are available, it's just a matter of booking (hopefully this week!) for the 2nd or 9th of August - what date are you and what do you have booked?

As well as the Church and village hall -so far decided on:

Colour sceme, caterer table centres, Invitations, place cards, guest List, cake and favours.

Food wise I've decided on starter, pudding and evening food. Need to discuss the rest with caterer.

I've started buying vases for my table centres at car boot sales/charity shops, some things to get started on my invitations and place cards (it's going to be a DIY wedding as I'm a crafter) and I made bunting for another event which I'll use for the wedding. I've also been picking up other things to dress the venue as I've seen them!

Lots of things sorted - just need to actually book it now!

Yay some fellow August 2014 brides!

    I'm 9th August :-)

We've booked church and venue and probably going to book caterers soon, just finalising things with them. Also booked transport and will be paying for my dress this week :-D I also ended up booking a MUA and a hair lady...I thought it was too soon for all of that but at least now I don't have to worry.

Next on the list is a DJ. It's funny, some suppliers (such as cars) were already booked up for my date when I enquired, but suppliers for other things were available then.

Anyone else feel a bit silly booking these things when there's still over a year to go? *sigh*

    16th August here (waves).

Booked registrar and venue, band for evening, acoustic duo for daytime, bouncy castle, ice cream van, circus skills workshop/demo, photographer. In negotiation/discussion with a couple of caterers and a late night disco.

I'm making my own dress and growing my own flowers (brave as I'm no gardener!).

I have yet to finalise food etc, buy bunting, sort invitations/save the dates (though I'll be doing a print your own or vista print I think). Still to make decisions about the ceremony wording and readings.

Hi there Smiley smile I'm getting married on Friday 1st August 2014, which is Yorkshire day.

I'm incredibly excited! Our ceremony is at 1.00pm ?

So far we've sorted Venue for ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. All same place!

    Registrar booked.

    Bridesmaid dresses bought

    Cake topper made

My button bouquet is made, need to get cracking with the 3 BMs and the 3 wands for the flower girls.

Have also found the car, just need to actually book it.

Photographer found, just in process of confirming.

Also have hair and make up sorted for the day.

Cake is being made vegan by my brothers Girlfriend.

Also have my bunting for the venue too.

My wedding is very handmade! So favours, centre pieces, decorations and such are all made by me.

My BiLTB owns Dough Bistro in Leeds and will be doing our catering too, he's on holiday in Las Vegas right now though...so can't talk things through with him..but will do upon his return! Have an appointment to try on my dream dress on 20th July too ?

    Good luck everyone!

Don't feel silly. I have bookings for 2015 already. If you know what you want then it makes sense to book it. If you wait then someone else might get the supplier you want.

    Hi,

8th August here. Got a fair whack done actually, in theory I can relax a bit then (haha!)

    Venue/Registrar - done

    Dress - deposit paid

    TOG - deposit paid

    String trio - deposit paid

MUA/Hair - in discussion, will book next week.

I've also arranged meetings with a florist and some cake makers.

Got a huge box filled with assorted invite samples, confetti samples, magazines, ideas and so on. Had to go get a new folder for all the important receipt bits so they didn't get lost!

I dont feel silly at all!

At the end of the day the more you do now the less you have to worry about doing weeks before the the big day.
Wedding planning should be fun and enjoyable experience Smiley smile.

I want the last couple of weeks to be stress free knowing everything is under control Smiley smile

I feel a bit daft sometimes sorting things for favours etc. when the venue isn't even booked!

I've got so much to do, I need to start now or I'll never get it done or it will get a chore - which we don't want!

Im an August bride- get married on the 23rd of august 2014 Smiley smile

    so far I have:

Church Booked - I didn't need a deposit but getting married at 12.30pm
    Venue booked
Dress brought and being stored at MIL house (it was a bargain £1600 reduced to £300 so couldn't not get it)
Save the date Cards ordered from vista print and families ones sent out (I ordered magnets)
    Photographer Booked
    Hair and make up booked
Cake - my younger brother is going to make it (with a little help from me- we both loved baking and decorating)
Catering for sit down meal and buffet booked just need to confirm exactly what we want
Transport booked my friend works at BMW so has a new one every 6 months and will have a convertible next year wahoo.

have booked photobooth and paid deposit.

even though I have done so much I still have tonnes to do including making my own brooch bouquet which I have started to collect the brooches for and blinging up my own shoes as well as bridemaids and flower girls shoes, have designed my invites just need to make them.

I am toying with the idea of having a wishing style tree with butterflies and crystals / pearls on based on a mirrored plate surrounded by candles wrapped in lace (my theme is vintage romance and colour scheme is red, ivory and silver)

Our wedding is on 23rd August 2014. So far we have booked our venue for the ceremony and reception (same place), photographer and caterer. I've also found a florist but we are still discussing the finer detail! That's about it. I'm starting to make save the dates, but they won't go out till this August probably.

We're hoping for Hawaii but haven't really decided on much more than that yet - may look at doing a couple of islands if possible!

What made you all pick August? There is no real significance for us but our venue has some fantastic gardens which will be amazing in August, plus we have a couple of people working in schools so it means they can attend easily.

DrBuffles, would you share your pinterest link? I like looking at everyone's ideas but mustn't buy anymore otherwise it will be over kill and there won't be any room left on the tables for plates! The only reason I have done everything is because I have way too much time on my hands...honest.

It's a secret board, sorry ? i have to keep it hidden or all my similarly Pinterest obsessed friends will see the whole lot months in advance! I'll do a flash at some point.

i don't have any time (currently procrastinating) so that's why i haven't done more!

Just out of interest how do you share pinterest link?
