Any Birmigham Brides??

Cecdesigner, 4 January, 2013 at 13:56 Posted on Planning 0 10

Helo!!

I have booked my church which is in Northfield, but i am now struggling to find the reception venue. we are prepared to travel- no more than 30/40 mins to the reception, but my next problem is a budget- im thinking about 5/6K altogether.

I did recently post about diy venue or hotel and my H2B and i are still very much up in the air- im finding even with over 18 months to go the venues that i really like are booked up- this is causing much frustration Smiley sad((((

Is there anyone who can suggest either a hotel/established venue or a diy venue within 30 miles of Birmingham??

thanking you sooooooo much!!

Clare x

Hiya, I'm getting married at the Holiday Inn, Bromsgrove were having the top package but they do packages from £1,500 - £6,000 I think or you can do it bit by bit. We also looked at the Westmead Hotel (near Kings Norton I think) for the money we preferred the Holiday Inn as it's not long been renovated too but Westmead was nice and would be handy for you. God luck

We loved it and the wedding coordinators seemed to really know what they were going on about and timings etc. We have had sunday lunch there which was lovely, and are due to go back Easter time to taste the menu for our wedding which is in September. I don't think they let you organist outside food but you can organise your own chair covers etc and flowers, but the deal I have its all included, DJ, buffet, decorations etc. It's deffo worth a look.

Fazeley Street Studio in Digbeth is good, not too far from Northfield not sure what their pricing is like though...

Fazeley Studios is fab - but I'm a bit biased as we're based there! Not sure of this years pricing but they were doing a very good offer on Sundays last year where hire was £500.

We've photographed weddings at most of these south Birmingham venues: Highbury Hall, Bournville Pavillion, St Nicolas Place in Kings Norton, Berrow Court, Old Rose and Crown, Lickey, The Westmead, Kings Norton Golf Club.

If your radius is 30/40 minute what about venues around Kidderminster? e.g Mecure Kidderminister, Gainsborough House, Himley Hall

Not sure of current pricing at these venues though....

What are your numbers for that amount hun?

I'm getting married near Meriden which is just off the A45 about 15 minutes from Sheldon. I'm not totally sure how far away it is from where you get married though! My venue is the Heart of England Conference & Events Centre. I'm paying about £6.5k & that includes getting married there. I'm having 95 in the day & around 200 in the evening. I haven't gone for the conventional 3 course sit down meal etc, partly because we couldn't afford it. I'm having a hot & cold buffet in the day & BBQ food in the evening. I'm happy with that as it fits in with my theme which is rustic & relaxed! It made it possible to have our wedding at a beautiful venue as well. Did you want a 3 course meal or are you willing to re-think what food you have? It makes a huge difference to the price.

It's a gorgeous venue so might be worth checking out if you're struggling in Birmingham itself x

We live in Wednesbury but got married at a Holiday Inn in Essex, as H is originally from Colchester. They were fantastic and the food was spot on. We brought in all our own decoration e.g uplighters and photo booth. We even had our own dance floor layed to fit in with our black and white theme. They never questioned anything as long as you Ok with them first.

It's worth giving them a visit. Plus it's ideal for guests that want to stay over.
