Any cheshire brides?

ClaireG85, 3 August, 2010 at 19:12 Posted on Planning 0 22

Does anyone have any experience with the Tytherington club? Just been looking at their online wedding brochure as a possible venue for the reception. I would of loved to have the reception at Heaton House Farm but the budget won't stretch that far. Or can anyone suggest anywhere else? Hoping to get married at Astbury church near Congleton so don't want to have to travel much further than Macc really. Thanks.

I love Heaton House Farm too! Never heard of the other sorry.

I'm not a Cheshire bride though.. Bit further, Shropshire.

    Hi Claire

I'm a Cheshire smug married. We did the whole thing at The Olde Vicarage in Holmes Chapel in 2006, it was very good.

How big does the venue need to be?

I've decorated the Tytherington Club for a party and thought the room was a good size, and had lots of natural light.

Have you looked at Hollin Hall, that is a popular venue and has good grounds for photos.

Is Crewe too far - The Hunter's Lodge Hotel which is on the Congleton side of Crewe is very good.

There is also Hotel Rudyard at Rudyard Lake near Leek.

I've decorated all of them and found the staff to be nice and helpful.

Just a few places to have a look at, hope this helps

    Heather

Thanks Heather that's a great help, i'm only about 20 mins from crewe.

Venue needs to have a capacity of about 150 for wedding breakfast and prob getting on for 200 at the evening. (I have a huge family!)

Yikes you do need a big place then!! Old Vicarage wouldn't be big enough, not sure if Hunter's would be either. You could do with somewhere with a marquee which would be a great flexible option. Do you know anyone with land??

There aren't many hotels that are that big for the breakfast. Wrenbury Hall near Nantwich would be a good size for you - lovely gardens

This page of my site might help - its got piccies of Wrenbury and Wychwood Hotel and Wychwood Golf Club places

oops shouldn't have posted a page of my website as I am no longer a HIB on here - sorry

Have you tried Combermere Abbey (it is past Nantwich so maybe too far) - they have a dedicated marquee - not sure about their prices though. I haven't any pictures of there.

Mottram Hall's larger suite would be big enough.

Good luck with your searches - I recommend that you ask if you can go around late morning when they have set the room up for a wedding - it gives you an idea of how the room could look, then you can start planning your ideas in.

Thanks a lot Heather, i really appreciate all the info you've given me.

Unfortunately i don't know anyone with land, i don't really know that many people around here. I'm originally from North Lincs and H2b is from Suffolk!

    Thanks again.

You can also go on the Cheshire East county council website - there is a dedicated area for places to marry and it gives you all the names and contact details which would probably be the best way for you to find places.

I come from Congleton so know Astbury church is lovely. Hubby and I now live just over the border in Staffordshire but I know lots of good suppliers in the area so if you need any help you just have to ask - my email is *******@**************.*****.**.**

If you can go to local wedding fayres that will help - especially look at the photographers books - you can ask if they have been to venues you are interested in and that gives you more views of places.

There are some lovely places but also lovely prices!!!

    Good luck Hx

Do you have many wedding fayres on the list Claire? And did you find them just by googling?

Sorry to be nosy! I'm hopefully getting married in Cheshire too (it's where I grew up!) but living in London at the moment so trying to minimise the number of weekends spent travelling to see venues. Having trouble finding things I both like and can afford!

There is also Hunter's Lodge in Crewe on Sunday 7th November too - there are a couple of cat walk shows on at this one.

Wow you are going to be busy!!!!! I work for a pharmaceutical company, but not on the scientific side - other people write the reports, do the statistics etc and I sort it all out to submit for approval .
