Not a bride(yet) but a Co Antrim HIB. I know most of the venues in the province and have attended weddings at most..... so I may be able to help.

    Me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hello!!!!!!!!!

Weve booked the Dunady Hotel outside Antrim, its beautiful & only does one wedding a day and has great gardens for pictures & a conservatory for guests to chill out in.

My friend is getting married in The Templeton next year & its meant to be lovely as well.

Ross Park is very popular as well & they do all in deals - and they are only one wedding a day.

And Galgorm Manor - they do 3 weddings a day but the place is huge & their packages include 5 course meal, flowers, cake, photographer, ice sculpture, chocolate fountain, rolls royce, drinks package....you name it its in it!

They are having a wedding fair on Sunday 20th March. Im going - i love seeing it done up & they serve tea, coffee, cake etc in all the different rooms so we just wander about eating all day LOL

I've done weddings at all the venues mentioned above. One thing to be aware of is that at all of them (apart from Belfast Castle, Templeton and Dunadry) they often have more than one wedding, so you could be sharing the ladies toilet and the gardens with another bride. I'm a regular at Belfast Castle and love it there, but the downside is it is council owned so open to the public during the day .... and people wander through the gardens during your piccies. Beware of the Templeton in the summer..... the function room is in the roof space so gets very hot even on a mild day.

One of my favourite venues of all time is actually in Co. Down, just past Downpatrick, Ballydugan Mill. Its privately owned, you have exclusive use and they will bend over backwards to do everything you want. To me , thats really important because many of the other venues tend to do everything the same and often utter the words 'thats the way we always do it'. At Ballydugan its very different.... you're not on a conveyor belt IYSWIM. If you're willing to travel out of co Antrim, it's definitely worth a look ( and the food is to die for!!!).

Other places not mentioned.... Malone Lodge Hotel, Tullyglass, Dunsilly (junction 1 Antrim), Ramada Hotel Belfast, Hilton Templepatrick, Corrs Corner, Park Avenue Hotel, Adair Arms Hotel, Ballymac, Balmoral, Park Plaza (at the airport) Ballygally Castle, Highways Hotel.

has anyone looked at the magherbuoy or been to a wedding there, my OH is really fussy, he doesnt like old fashioned places. my head is turned, lol! dont want to have to travel too far for the sake of our grandparents.

Aw they had a wedding fair not that long ago, with a catwalk and all!

I think they give you £100 off a wedding dress at Star Tiara in Ballymoney? I got my BM dresses from their & very nearly an Ellis wedding dress for me but ended up with a Maggie Sottero! They are great great girls in there & open late tue & Thur. They have a facebook page, if your on facebook u should join it.

Its a lovely hotel, Ive ate in it a couple of times & you are near to beaches for photographs as well.

I am getting married and having my reception there in Aug as well!! We had looked at other places but when we saw what we were getting for our money we thought we would book here so happy we did now as they have just released a new offer where if you get 50 rooms booked for your wedding you get the whole reception for free!!! Or for evey 10 rooms booked you get 100 pounds back!!! And the best bit the new offer applies to the old bookings so it excellent for us as i have a large family that will need to stay.
