    Hi all,

I'm a December bride - 3rd!! Very scary now that it is 'this year'!! Haven't planned too much, but know roughly what I want - except for the dress!! Do not have a clue what style/colour I want at all Smiley surprise

First dress shop is on 5th Feb and am hoping for inspiration - how are your plans going? Are you having a Christmas or winter theme?

    Fay

Lol, don't want your H2B seeing!! I've booked an appointment to try some on in March. I want to lose a bit of weight as well so hopefully this will give me enough time, although it seems like it'll be here in no time!! Has anyone got a theme? Colours?

    Hello!

I'm a 29th December bride! We booked the venue last week - very excited! I am going dress shopping in late Feb (need to lose some more weight first). Also seeing a photographer in Feb (date has been provisionally reserved with them) and the florist too just to get some initial ideas of what we want! Ooh and menu tasting too! Yum Yum!

I need to decide on a definite colour scheme. We don't want it Christmas themed as it's a few days afterwards so leaning towards just navy blue, white and light gold at the mo! I definitely want lots of tealights to bring a cosy look to the venue - and they have fairy lights hung up all the time too which i love!

    Hi H,

i want lots of candles too, candles are great for adding warmth and a gorgeous glow in the venues.

I know, and luckily the venue allows them so going to have lots!!

Out of curioisity - is anyone planning on buying a specific winter wedding dress or not? All the dresses i've seen on the web that i like are a bit floaty and not sure i'll be cold or not! And i don't know if the faux fur shrug is for me!

What are you all planning on doing to keep out the cold?

im planning on having a satin dress as its nice heavy material thus hopefully keep me warm with some sort of bolero but luckily my ceremony and reception venues are heated so i will only get a bit chilly when getting in out of the car and when having photos.

I'm having blue (can't decide the shade yet as it's proving hard to match) silver and White. Trying to sort out a DJ but I'm finding this the hardest bit, how do you know they're any good? I've not got a 'winter dress' in mind as such, just something that I love, I don't mind being cold as I usually am anyway. Will def have some sort of shrug though. Out of interest what are you all doing for your honeymoon? We're going to go to Iceland. Hopefully book it this week!!

We'll be going on honeymoon hopefully after new year's day as a little cheaper than going over NYE, but we want somewhere hot! I think most likely to opt for Mexico as like the idea of 2 weeks all inclusive (never done this before!) Other option is Thailand, but OH not so keen.

I have been to Iceland. Would definitely recommend the Blue Lagoon, very relaxing! We also did the Gulfoss and Geysers (sp?) tour which was interesting but sadly the northern lights weren't visible when we were there as it was a bit cloudy!

    Evening ladies,

I'm also a December bride! We're getting married on the 16th and have a candlelit ceremony so should be gorgeous! We're also having blue for our theme, going for navy suits for the groom and ushers and a navy dress for my MoH, then ivory dresses for the bridesmaid and flower girls with navy sash (well if I find any good ones that is)...

I've tried on lots of the shrugs and they actually look really nice (I wasn't sure about them either initially)...everyone keeps telling me the excitement will keep me warm...hoping my skin doesn't go with the blue theme for the photos! x

    Hello Ladies,

Im a december 17th bride and im really geting into the planning. So far.....

We have booked the venue (having ceremony/Wedding breakfast and reception all in a lovely hotel)

Given our notice of marriage and booked the registrar

    Booked the DJ

Got TOG (one of our friends is doing for us)

Cake - being made by mum and decorated by us.

Got my wedding dress! (picking it up on Saturday so will flash!)

    Got favours sorted

Center piece stuff bought and 100 electric tea lights to decorate the venue.

...... Im going to have to slow down on the planning as im starting to worry that I wont have anything to do over the summer except wait, although saying that I cant look for BM dresses until then so I can keep that to look forward to. After numerous times of changing our minds I think we are now going for Green, plum and silver (with the boys in black suits).

Sorry, Ive got my wedding head on at the moment and Im all excited by it!

I hope you are all enjoy the planning as much as me!?

Damn, you're all making me feel bad! I'm a september groom and you're all way ahead of us. Venue, check everything else.... hmmm.

I have to confess though I really love winter weddings. They're always great to photograph, really beautiful, the sun is low in the sky, you usually get some pretty mist/fog in the morning and for some reason they always seem more chilled out and fun. Now remind me why I'm not having a winter wedding???
