Any doctors about for advice please?

nessie1, 24 July, 2009 at 21:29 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 2

Sorry I'm normally a lurker here or baby talk but would appreciate some advice please if anyone can help.

Me and hubby had a flu type bug last weekend and into this week, feel a lot better but had a pain in left side now since wed. Starts at bottom of ribs, down into hip and round back a bit, considered going to Gp but felt better a bit this morning, typically now they are closed ffor weekend it's come back. Do you think I've just pulled something lifting kids? or should I see Dr mon

Thanks

    Hi Nessie,

Just spotted your post, not sure if it is coincidence but I have had flu since mon, and have had a pain in my left side since yesterday. I thought it might be because of the amount of tamiflu, and other tablets that I was taking?? I haven't asked anyone yet so might be worth getting it checked out if you are worried. Sorry I know my response isn't very helpful i just assumed it was down to the amount of tablets I was taking.

    Hi Nessie,

H is a doctor, and he says you should always go to a GP to get checked out if you're ever not sure about anything as you just can't tell without being checked out - and it's better to put your mind at rest. Sorry - not very helpful i know! Could you have strained yourself by coughing lots with the flu? It could well be strain from lifting the kids while weaker with flu though - I know I always have at least one ache or pain at any one time from lifting my toddler around.

H adds that it is always possible to have side effects from medications, so worth getting checked out if you've been having Tamiflu for a while.

Apologies for vague response, but sure it's nothing to worry about - hope you feel better soon x

Thanks think I'll take myself to docs mon, didn't bother seeing them with whatever bug we had as decided we weren't that bad, mind you hubby is now back on sofa so think he might be with me.

Maybe it is a side thing from flu if there's more than me, then again carrying a 16mth old that weighs the same as his 3 1/2 yr old sister could be equally to blame!
