Any help on timing

Zulu86, 21 August, 2014 at 15:42 Posted on Planning 0 1

Hi, I'm hoping someone could help. We are having a reg office wedding at 3.15 with 30 of our nearest and dearest. We are then meeting around 50 more guests at our venue at 5pm then the rest coming at 7. We will be providing a hot buffet at 8ish. We will be serving welcome drinks at 5 and was going to have canopes but I think they are a waste of money. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

hi due to budget limits I'm having a similar day. My church ceremony is at 2.30, meeting everyone at the reception venue and settling down around 4.30-5 with welcome drinks. The buffet is going to be around 5.30/6 after speeches followed by cake cutting then music beginning at 7 where more evening guests will be joining for drinks. I'm not bothering with canopes either and hopefully everyone will eat lunch/ have a big breakfast before the ceremony. I really can't afford to feed people twice or supply any other drinks other than the welcome drink per person. Everything is so expensive!

Why are the additional guests coming in 2 stages? Are the earlier 50 getting something that the later guests aren't?
