Climoo22, 17 September, 2014 at 21:40 Posted on Planning 0 26

Hi Ladies,

Im new here, just thought I'd say hi and see who else is planning a March 2015 wedding?

Im the 20th. Stupidly organised and have sorted almost everything except the dress, bridesmaids dresses and table plan. I need to pace myself! Ha!

Nice to meet you all.

Me!! I'm the 6th :o) we only booked it around 3 weeks ago. So far have decided on caterer, booked photographer, made invites, bought my dress and booked church. Have you sorted flowers? I'm doing research at the moment as trying to work out what flowers are seasonal around then!!

Lol glad I'm not the only one! We've booked the photographer and photobooth too.

I've requested two quotes but haven't had them back yet, will update the thread when I do, I've asked for 10 birdcages with rononculous , ivy and avalanche roses ( wanted fave peonies but they're out of season) surrounded by tea lights. 5 button holes, a top table arrangement consisting of tea lights in glass holders and flower heads in small glass jars, and the bridal bouquet plus 3 bridesmaids bouquets.

what are you thinking of for centrepieces? I'm going with a vintage/shabby chic feel with all pastels.

Ooo, I was looking at some form of greenery with roses - or snowdrops! My dress is quite vintagey - it's not a typical wedding dress at all, so I want something that will fit in and the florist I spoke to the other day suggested a bunh of snowdrops tied together with lace which looked perfect. The only problem is they are not good for buttonholes :s I am also going to vintage/shabby chic, so me and my mum are doing all the flowers apart from bouquets and buttonholes. I am collecting jam jars which I will put lace around then fill with seasonal flowers. Thinking a few of those together and then tea lights in a circle round the outside for centrepieces. I don't want anything too big and fussy, so that's my idea!! Same as you though - all pastel colours Smiley smile

Hello!!! March 14th Smiley laugh Been planning for about 6 months and was ridiculously organised initially, but now seem to be having a bit of a lull!

    Venues booked,

Dress, veil and tiara bought n paid for

Flowers ordered (although I'm completely changing my mind about them)

    DJ booked

    Photobooth booked

Wedding rings chosen and nearly paid off

Flower girl dresses and page boy suits bought

Invites are currently being sent out (took us a while to get round to it because they are partly DIY)

Now we are focussing on our DIY centre pieces and also going bridesmaid dress shopping this weekend Smiley laugh xx

    Hi all,

(Waving vigorously) I am march 14th too, I don't really post here but thought this thread will be where the people as crazy as me will be, right so everything is done but I am astounded as to how obsessed I am about the day, every second and detail of the day has been thought through, I cried when my OH said he wasn't that crazy about the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to - who is this crazy neurotic person that is inhabiting my once rational body. I have been dieting hard, started march and am 3st 9 lb lighter still a way to go though. I have found that because everything is done I am just now adding to it because I don't seem to be able to stop, if I am not on ebay buying I am on here getting inspiration, I enjoy the flashes the most so I will flash a bit of my own if no one minds sorry if there are too many.

the only thing I won't post is my dress just i case the OH sees but if anyone is interested google, Sophia Tolli, Meera. Soooo not the shape of dress I thought I would get but knew it was the one the second she did it up. Here is the rest

    The venue.

    bridesmaids and flowergirl dresses accessories

The cake but with white and teal

    The flowers

    Invitations. Hair inspiration

Shoes 2 pair, a flat pair and a pair with a kitten heel

Hello! I’m a March bride, 14th as well J. Can’t believe it’s less than 6 months away now, so excited!!

Climoo – When are you off dress shopping?

JLSS – I had a good email from my florist with in season flowers…she said hyacinths, ranunculus, narcissus, anemones (gerberas/lilies/carnations/chrysanths all year round)…I’m sure there are plenty more too! I’m actually going for roses but with ranunculus for our centre pieces. We’re having candelabras with the flowers in the middle for ours.

gembluetopaz All of your photos look lovely!! Dress is stunning as well.

Also pretty organised at the moment but I’m sure this calmness is going to go AWOL closer to the time. We’ve just booked to give notice to marry and H2B is on the phone to BA as we speak booking honeymoon flights! We have our food tasting next weekend and bridesmaid dress shopping in a few weeks, picking up wedding rings on Sunday morning (going to have to be so disciplined with putting them away and leaving them there!) and my dress comes in in December so I need to get undies & shoes before then, other than that I think we’ve done all we can for now! Xx

Oooo, wonderful thank you!! My mum and I are doing the pew ends and church decorations and centre pieces ourselves as she is amazing at that sort of thing and figured its a great way to really involve her Smiley smile so we are off to look at a wholesalers at some point and at least I can mention certain in season flowers to them now!! Where are you going on honeymoon? We are postponing ours until October as H2B will have finished a course he is doing by then but so many places to look at!!

Gembluetopaz - where are your bridesmaid dresses? I am going shopping on Sunday with my bridesmaids for theirs, but your dresses are lovely!

Ahh that's such a lovely idea to have your mum help with the flowers. We are pretty un-creative with that kind of stuff so having to shell out for ours!

We're off to St Lucia and coming home via New York as that's where we got engaged, wanted to make it a round trip Smiley smile. Where are you thinking for yours? xx

    Hi Guys,

I don't know how to quote peoples posts but to Lolapickle, thankyou its been a hard 6 months but I just keep picturing me in my dress on the day and everyone watching and it spurs me on.

JLLS - They are from a website called Evica, they are more Blue (they do other colour) than the stock picture in real life but I knew that because I ordered a swatch sample and there are also customer photos on there as well, they are next day delivery so pretty good.

I have to say I feel so lucky with my plans so far because I haven't had any major dramas, no fall outs over anything everyone is being so supportive. I am having 3 adult bridesmaids (My sisters) all self appointed, I didn't ask any of them to be bridesmaids, my older sister is my MOH again self appointed but I wouldn't have it any other way. The big thing I have found is that I am doing a lot of DIY adapting things, jazzing them up, adding glitter its like I can't stop meddling and just leave things as they are see photos of some DIY projects.

Here are my bouquets the one on left was before, the right after I decided I wanted them to have stems to make them look more realistic, it was just florist wire and florist tape and a glue gun

These were white, but glue and glitter later ......

Teal Light holders, were clear glass, but I had a bit of glitter left over from the MR & MRs sign sooo...

Addition to the centre pieces, there will be filled with aquabeads lights floating candles and surrounded with crystals.

This will be instead of a guest book it was a large photo frame from wilkos and I bought a mount and a plaque online (sorry its the wrong way round)

    Confetti

This is a mock up for my aisle, I will have these running down eitherside

Coat Hangers I decorated for my sisters and niece.

Baskets I got from cat boot and decorated, the bottom one is for bathroom baskets.

So I AM completely insane and obsessed then ---- Right????

Gembluetopaz - I LOVE all your flashes, what a lovely colour!!!

I think I may be more excited for the honeymoon than the wedding haha, it took us much longer to choose that than anything else to do with the wedding Smiley smile

    Hi crazycatlady,

thankyou it has always been my favourite colour, although the oh refuses to call it teal as he said if it doesn't come up singing the rainbow song then it's not a real colour, so he refers to it as blue/green. Our honeymoon wasn't even in question we are both big kids at heart so it was florida all the way, we fly 6 weeks after the wedding. Is anyone going on honeymoon straight after the wedding? I did assume that it was the norm nowadays to have a gap not like in films where they leave the evening reception and jump in a car off to the airport.

I LOVE Florida so much!!! We were going to go there for ours, but changed our mind because we're going to be going there on a family holiday the year after. Instead we're going to The Maldives, which I'm really excited about Smiley laugh I've never been before but I believe it's lovely.

And yes, we're going (almost) straight after the wedding - well, the day after. So got a nice drive from Cheshire to London Gatwick on the Sunday morning! To be honest, this was more about not having to take more time off work than necessary, so going the next day was our best option.

    xx

    Hi Ladies!

Another newbie planning a March 2015 wedding. We've booked the 28th at 1.30pm Smiley smile

Reasonably organised at the moment, my dress, men's suits, bridemaids dresses, venue & catering, flowers, cake, band, MOA and hairdresser are all sorted. I've just started drafting the invitations, when are you all sending yours?

Next on the list is honeymoon & rings . .

Looking forward to hearing about your plans x

Hi, 7th March 2015 here, and nowhere near as organised as I'd like to be right now! We've booked the ceremony, tog and reception and I've got my dress and my daughter's bridesmaid dress, feels like loads more to sort but we're only having a small wedding - no evening do, no DJ to get etc so probably not that bad ? The time's gone so quickly though, mainly spent trying to find a reception venue! Pleased to find other March brides.

We sent STD's a few months ago, as most guests have to travel, but keep wavering about when to send the invites. Thinking sometime in December, as it's a small family do so RSVP's won't be a problem to chase, but not sure exactly when!

    I am 21st March.

I have pretty much organised everything now, OH has to arrange the groomsmen's suits and invites need to go out but I think that is about it! x

    Hi,

we delivered ours last weekend and have had no formal RSVP yet, my worry is that we are having 70 say and 120 night but they are mostly family, I'm worried people will just expect us to know they are coming. At what point do you chase, we need final numbers 8weeks before the day.

We put 14th December, so they have 2 months to reply and then I have another month to chase before we have to give figures to the venue, we have sent all invite out day and night, I know it's fairly early but I just wanted it ticked off the things to do list, plus I have had the invites since June so they were just staring at me I couldn't hold off any longer.

Haha I was super keen with my invitations too, it's all the excitement! We've been pretty lucky so far with RSVP's, we've put the cut off date as 14.01.14, 2 months before. Then we'll just give them a call in Feb if no response by then. I do think people just assume that they're coming unless they let you know otherwise...rightly or wrongly, I'm just trying to stay relaxed about it.

How is everyone doing with planning? I feel like everything's going more quickly now which is great! I feel like I've probably forgotten something huge though...

We just have little details to sort and buy not actual suppliers Smiley smile x

Yes we have all our suppliers etc booked (I think, hope...!), just the finer little details like finalising flowers, hair/make up looks etc. I'm off to Bicester Village on Saturday to hopefully find some wedding shoes, sooo excited about that. I am totally wishing my life away but I really wish it was here already!

I found out the theme for my hen night this week - little black dresses! Very happy with that, it's very me! I am secretly hoping I get a veil to wear though, I love them!

Gosh - just seen that I've only got 150 days to go!

Anyone else worried that you've forgotten something major? Really need to take a timeout and make a list.

We can't send out our invites until we've had our tasting evening, which is 11th November, as we are offering a couple of choices for the breakfast. Bit nervous that the RSVP window will be unrealistic for guests to be able to respond back - is a month long enough?

Good luck on the shoe shopping Lola, I picked up a bargain pair in the House of Fraser sale for £24. Just hope that don't look that cheap!!!
