Any May 2013 brides?

I'm planning my Mum's wedding for 18th May 2013. After being on Hitched since 2004, and planning 3 of my own weddings (finally got married Halloween last year), my Mum thought I was perfectly qualified to plan hers ?

I say Mum's, but it's actually my Mum and Dad's wedding. They recently got back together after divorcing over 20 years ago ?

So far, we have

Ceremony venue and Reception venue all booked and paid for.

Day and Evening invites designed and printed.

Cake (i'm making the cake)

Photographer (My ex is a tog, and is doing them for free)

Transport (My friends uncle owns a couple of "wedding cars", so called in a favour)

Evening entertainment (family friend is a DJ, and is doing it for free)

Catering

Bride's dress. Just need to get shoes

BM's dresses & accesories. Just need to get shoes

Flowers (i'm making fabric flowers and button bouquets)

Decorations, table centre pieces etc.

Accomodation for B & G on wedding night

Accomodation for guests who are travelling.

Need to sort groom, Best man and page boys out.

11th May for me

Have booked/ordered: Venues, TOG, My dress, Caterers and Band called in loads of favors for decor and stuff

Still so much to do though especially as we are buying our first home now - all in 8 months eek!

I'm just about done, just the finer details to sort out now, ive just ordered my invitations and im having a catch up with my florsit early october, im going back to try on my dress in september, I do need to set up an appointment to see with the people who are dressing the venue to go through the finer details and im busy buying old fashioned jars for the candy bar? its getting close now

I'm a May 2013 bride. getting married on 18th May. OH wanted bank holiday weekend but its my son's birthday and don't want the limelight taken from him on his birthday.

I think we've been pretty organised so far - only got flowers, BMs dresses and then accessories e.g. jewellery, shoes etc to go. Although I'm starting to panic a bit. I ordered my dress at the end of May and was told it would be back in February only to have a letter from the shop this week to say that my dress will be back around mid October!! What am I going to do? I was anticipating to lose a bit of weight before my first fitting. I may try and put off going back to the shop for as long as possible!!

I'm getting married on 11th May

We've got church, venue, photographer, half of the entertainment (fantastic guy called the Belfast Busker), my dress, BM dresses, cake, suits, invites and STD's, chocolate fountains.

Don't need transport as our church is right next door to the venue For big things really just need to sort the ceilidh, rings and flowers I think!!

Hey girls

Just curious to see how everyone is getting on with their planning?

In the last month or so, we have sorted out the rings, photographer, wedding car, and we ordered the invitations yesterday! Next on our list is paying off the remainder of the catering, then I think its just the smaller things to sort out!

I'm getting really excited now, 8 months is a bit too long to wait though

We went round to Mum's yesterday so h2b could winterise her garden, scary when he said "just think next time we get all this out will be May"

We're keeping hold of all our money (paid depsits obviously) until we have to pay up, would hate for a supplier to go bust and then have to wrangle with the insurance to get our money back.

Have all the major things booked, just buying all the details stuff - great fun - E bay is my friend! Lol lovely seeing it all come together rather then just a jumbled image in my brain!

So far i have booked/Bought:-

Venue, dj is being provided with the venue along with the toast master, they are doing the food.

Having no transport for me the bride, bridesmaid as me and the eldest bridesmaid are staying there the night before so that saves some money for something else for the wedding.

I'm the 25th May.

So far we have venue (caterers included), the band, bridesmaid dresses, booked the honeymoon, declared our intention to marry, wedding car and have started collecting things for the centre pieces.

I have got a cheap dress but I am not sure about it. Everyone seems to say they tried 'the one' on and they knew it was for them. I haven't felt like that yet!

Suppose I better get a move on!

Aaaarggh! Reading this it seems like everyone is so much more organised than me....and I'm known for my organisation usually!

My wedding is May 31st, but got engaged last September and had our first little boy in Feb this year, so always planned to leave a lot of the organising until after my return to work which was last month. Feel like I really need to get moving now!

We have our venue booked and 50% paid for, which includes all the food, accomodation for the wedding night, drinks with the wedding breakfast etc.

Have booked DJ and gave notice of marriage last week. Really lucky that I have a pro wedding tog in the family so that was that sorted. Another relative is a graphic designer and has done all our stationary - invites will be going out soon!

Our families have been really keen to help out with bits and bobs, so my sister is doing all the favours and my mum has been picking up bits as she sees them - guest book, ring cushion, table decs etc.

Saw some flower girl dresses last week that I loved and were in the sale and so got those, and have been trying wedding dresses but haven't found anything so far.

Next things on my list after my dress are rings, bridesmaid dresses, suits, chair covers, flowers and cake. Still feels like so much to do!

I keep finding that no-one wants any money either...I have paid small deposits for most things, but it seems that most services just want the balance 4 weeks before - going to have to be careful and make sure I keep the money aside as I'm going to owe a lot of money 4 weeks before my wedding!!

We're getting married on May 11th - there seem to be a few of us getting married that day! My future father in law keeps informing me that it happens to also be the fa cup final that day so I'm currently hoping that birmingham city, tottenham, arsenal, aston villa & portsmouth all get knocked out before the final or I get the feeling a good amount of my guests may vanish to find a tv ?

I need to get off this website and start booking stuff. So far we have the venue, the registrar and my dress. The venue does include all our food, chair covers (just need to pick a colour) and our accomodation though.

I've booked to see the woman we want to make our cake and we're organising meeting the photographer we want next week. I'm also searching for bridesmaids dresses (but having little luck). OH is sorting out honeymoon stuff, nothing booked yet but he's got quotes and stuff. Just need to find the money now ?

There's still so much to do!!!!

We are getting married on May 4th. So far we have booked church and reception, photographer, caterer, makeup, I know roughly the dress I want but we haven't done much else! Better start moving!

We are also getting married on the 11th May! To manic_cow: Oh, no, really?! I was actually asking my future husband to check the dates in May so that we don't have our wedding on the worst possible day for the football fans. He did not mention the FA cup final! I really hope that it won't be a problem.?

We have (just a few days ago) booked the registrar, and the venue is already booked too, so now it's starting to feel REAL. Nothing else has been decided really, I think I want to look for a dress around New Year when we are in the UK again. We live in Sweden but are getting married in the UK, which means a bit of planning. Will need to give our notice around New Year too (only time we will be there before the wedding), and the rules say we need to show we have been in the country for seven days before the appointment - so we have now planned the whole trip around that

We've been engaged since January, by the way.

Am excited about the plans, and so happy for the rest of you! May is a lovely month!

UPDATE

Now have ceilidh booked (license to ceilidh), honeymoon sorted and mini moon sorted too!

I think we have booked/arranged the main things too. We are going to make our invites so going to start on those in the next few weeks I think and finally got BM dresses last week.

What colours are everyone having? We were going for just sage green originally (which I thought was quite unusual at first but now I keep seeing it everywhere!) but now it's a kind of sage green/dusky pink/champagne kind of theme.
