We are having a "winter wedding" theme with white/silver/royal blue colours!! Christmas time is my favourite time of year, once married we are returning to work for a few weeks as h2b holidays have to be over christmas as he works in construction. We will then be jetting off to New York for Christmas Day and Las Vegas for New Years Eve!! Very excited.
Christmas is my fave time of the year too. We are having a Christmas theme and going with the colour red.
Ours is on Friday 28th December.
Ours is in a lovely Tudor house called Hillbark Hotel on the Wirral in Frankby. Having a church ceremony in our local church.
I was originally on the you and your wedding forums buts couldn't get to grips with their format so came over here instead.
They have a lot of planning posts over there where b2bs post pictures of everything from invites to locations to shoes all in one post. Does that happen over here?
There was a fab December bride over therehaving a Tiffany theme and posted pics of everything! I was hooked! The attention to detail was fabulous! Xxx
We're getting married on 22/12/12. We're having it in an old village hall in the grounds of a castle which has lots of dark wooden beams. We are having lots of wintery garlands wrapped round beams, lots of candles everywhere. Lots of candles in the big old fireplaces and our colours are cream and white. Just gotta hope it doesnt snow cause although the pics would be lovely it would be a pain for everyone to get too.
Mines in a catholic family church and then 5mins down to the sea front to my big white hotel venue ... i'm hoping for snow!! It looks lovely on the seafront, although it will be soooooo cold!! Its snowing here at the moment, I took the dog out in it last night .. I hope it will be a little warmer for the wedding xx
This is my 1st post to Hitched and yes i'm getting married on 30th December (which just happens to be my OH'S birthday). We both love Christmas and i'm looking for a winter theme to have through out the day such as crystal beads / snow flakes on the tables. My venue will be decorated with Christmas lights (tastefully) and also has a LED display in the ceiling in the room where the reception is being held (looks lovely in the dark as this is the only source of lighting for the night reception).I did think about having the LED curtain but i need to see what this would look like .
Another December bride here! We're getting married on the 8th December at Northbrook Park on the Surrey / Hampshire border. I haven't really done anything apart from booking the venue yet - I've been living in Dubai for the last 3 years but I'm moving back to the UK next week, then the serious wedding planning can start! I'm planning a Christmas theme as well - mostly a red theme with an accent of gold I think. Hoping that the excitement of the wedding planning will make up for being freezing cold, not liking the sound of this cold snap in the UK - I'm used to year-round sunshine now!
Looking forwards to hearing about the other December weddings.
I till have lots to do. So far we have the venue booked, my dress, the grooms and ushers suits picked out and ordered, my shoes, the wedding singer, the church, the save the dates and I think that is it. Need to get cracking and wish so much that I had an open ended budget so I could do everything now rather than have to accumulate funds first pah! Never mind eh.
So whe and where is everyone honeymooning? We are planng on straight after new year and so far have narrowed it down to Antigua.
We're looking at Cuba for our honeymoon straight after the wedding, I want to be back home before Christmas though so it'll probably only be 10 days. Was really keen on the Maldives but its sooooo expensive!
We are in Ashford in Kent and getting married just outside Canterbury in Kent.
We were planning on having a honeymoon in the Feb half term as when we booked the wedding I didnt look up term times and assumed we would break up for xmas the same as this year/last year which would leave me a week before the wedding to do all the last minute bits and a week after but now realise that we actually break up the day before (school have been lovely and letting me have the last day of term off phew!!) which means that i'll now have 2 weeks off after the wedding so may be able to snake away earlier then planned
We're getting married 12/12/12....yes it's a weekday but guests will have plenty of notice. If they want to be there they'll take time off, if not then tough!! I love my date and it's also my gran's birthday so it's a date that's special to us.
I've got my dress (came into shop last week), booked photographer, entertainment, venue, flowergirls dress, my shoes and my save the dates.
We can't go on honeymoon until April (due to work). We booked it on Saturday, going to Riviera Maya, Mexico for 2 weeks, 5* All inclusive.
You're all so organised! I only have my venue booked, and tried on my first dresses at the weekend and we're getting married on 29/12/12. We're having lots of winter foliage, with claret red and champagne coloured flowers - whatever's in season really, and lots of fairy lights and tealights and there's a big open fire in the venue.
We are having winter wedding with navy silver white theme and or table names are after song 12 days of christmas We will sing song and each table has to stand up for their bit!
I'm new to the site & came across your blog, hope u don't mind me joining in - I get married on 28/12/12 and can't wait, the proposal was 14 years in the making
Hi MrsMaddock2b I'm getting married december 28th too, we are date twins! And get this - we live in Liverpool and hill bark hotel was on our shortlist of venues to visit but we crossed it off as they already had a wedding on the 28th which we knew we wanted as our date! That must be your wedding!! :-D x
And we are having a red theme as my oh is a Liverpool supporter and I'm a united supporter, long story!
Gosh sorry for the later reply! Only just seen this now!
How mad is that!! Our theme is red because DF is a united supporter! So where did you settle on for your venue in the end? Our second choice was Thornton Hall and we fell in love with Thornton Manor but it was well out of our price range!
So glad I have a date twin and a local one at that! Whereabouts in Liverpool do you live then? We live on the Wirral in New Brighton. Our church where we are having the service is in New Brighton so we are hoping for a few nice shots on the beach before we had to the venue.
Hi, I am getting married on the 2/12/2012, i've gone for midnight blue and silver as my dress has silver lace in. I have cake, venue, dress. photographer and dj so far.
gone for a winterwonderland theme, having willow as my centrepeices with snowflakes hanging off the branches, i made my own save the dates - blue snowflakes with silver writing and glitter edges, i also stuck a magnet on the back of them
We live in woolton village in south liverpool and we are getting married at formby hall golf resort and spa. It's about 45 minutes away from us and was out of our expected budget but we both fell in love with it and knew we had to have it. We both have quite sporty families and so my oh, brothers, etc are having a round of golf the day before whilst me and mum and sisters have a pampering!
I'm not as far along as people seem to expect me to be, have booked venue and registrar and that's all at the moment. I'm going to try on dresses over next 3 weeks and so should have that boxed off fairly soon. Wev met with one photographer and are seeing another this week and am just waiting on a quote from a second florist then that should be booked so I'm getting there!
I'm wishing for snow as shots on the golf course as well as the nearby beach would be amazing! If a little chilly! :-) x
Tillydent we are having similar theme What dress did you get It sounds similar to one I tried on Oh have you seen Hicthed face book page If not whats your name and I'll add you x
