I have loved reading through your posts - I LOVE Christmas, and can't wait for the DJ to play Fairytale of New York when we've all had a few drinks towards the end of the night! x x x

Haha, this made me smile as it is exactly one of the things I think about our wedding. I keep picturing me and OH and all our friends and family, the twinkling christmas lights around the dancefloor and everyone singing 'and the bells the were ringing out for christmas day!!'?

When is everybody sending out their invites? My wedding is at the end of December and I was thinking of sending out throughout September?

Same here LEA2012, ours is the 28th Dec, definitely advice sending invites out towards the end of Aug beginning of Sept - Xmas is always a busy time of year for family and friends so wanting to make sure they all get the date in their diary's. ?

We're planning on sending ours out end of August as we have put an early RSVP date on of 1st October so we know if we can bump anyone up and work out costings a bit more.

We're sending our invites out over the next 2 weeks for ours (14 Dec) with an RSVP date of 1 October on. We thought the sooner we get them out the better, everyone has such busy schedules around Christmas, and it also means we can do the last minute budget a bit clearer if we get the RSVP's back as soon as we can.

My dress arrived this morning, and I'm booked in for my first fitting Wednesday!!! Woohooo!!! After all the stress and grief I'm just so glad it's arrived, I don't think I'll want to take it off.

BTW if anyone has any young ushers/older page boys - Next has got some amazing wool suits in!!! Perfect for winter and not massively expensive!!! I just need shirts and shoes for mine now!

Dress is bought, make-up trial booked, still need to get shoes by the end of sept for first dress fitting, menu is sorted, transport is meant to be sorted!

I think we are getting there!

O and baking the cakes tomorrow........ Wish me luck!! ?

Mrs-HFA, this is the link for the invitations:

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160823985924

So, the image here is the £1.20 day invitation - the evening ones are just one-sided, but still lovely.

Lea2012 - haha I KNOW! Your description brought a tear to my eye (of happiness!)...this is exactly how I imagine it...bring it on!

Hi December girls?, I was originally a 12/12/12 bride but cancelled my venue (who were messing us about) so now I'm 20th December.

I've just sent my save the dates, and panicking slightly after reading that you ladies are sending your invites out this month!! I need to get my finger out.

I've got most things under control (I think). I have my flowers, dress is in shop, BM dresses ordered, tog, vog, entertainment booked.

I love the Fairytale of New York comment....

I think as long as you've got your save the dates out you should be ok Fergo. Anyone with sense will be able to book any necessary holidays based on that so don't panic!

Is Fairytale in New York a theme amongst everyone then? We're having it as our last dance of the evening!!!! ?

Wow, there is a lot of December weddings - I am 08/12/12. Ours isn't christmas themed exactly (except maybe for the gold platters and huge joints of meat - OH is a carnivore Smiley smile). Our original theme has expanded a bit (some small additions like a sweet table, children's castle, magician etc.).

Mrs-HFA - you could probably get some ideas for readings from popular christmas songs or stories, they usually have nice poemy bits in posh xmas cards. I think a reading from something like 'A Christmas Carol' might be nice depending on your guests....

Hi ladies, how are we all getting on? I had a make-up trial yesterday, which was a steep learning curve! I didn't like it. It made me look old and gave me lines!! I figured as I don't wear a great deal of make-up I would at least give it a chance as Mum & I had to go shopping for something to wear to my brothers wedding. You see the thought process!

Then i saw myself in Daylight!!!!!!! First shop I went into was for wipes!!

O well back to the drawing board!

    Greetings December B2BS. ?

Im newly engaged & have booked & organised our wedding (Dec 23rd)in two weeks flat. Pretty much everything is sorted. I'm glad in a way we havent had months and months to wait.

The only blip so far is not being able to have a 3pm ceremony. There isnt a free registrar, so we've had to go for 4pm. There won't be any light outside by then, so it's an excuse to get redressed the next morning & get some pics outside the venue then. (Hopefully not too worse for wear)

It'll be a small do with close friends and family & I'm sooo excited about it. Our theme is Xmas too. We'll make use of the evergreens in the garden & use pine cones as well. This has kept our budget right down.

Im going to get my blacksmith to clean up my ponies shoes when he takes them off next week, so I can paint them & put ribbons through them for our top table decoration.

Sooo excited & only 100 sleeps to go!!xx

Hi everyone, getting VERY excited now!! We went to get our wedding rings this week and saw our venue to finalise details. I've been told my dress should be in in October, which is a massive relief as that was the one thing I was worried about!

Is anyone else trying to lose weight? That, stupidly, is the only thing I'm stressing out about now! I've lost about 10lbs, and have about another 10lbs to go to be REALLY comfortable. I hope I can do it!

Imaginelt - that is amazing, well done you and congratulations on your recent engagement. Were the suppliers shocked when you said you were getting married in 3 months?? x

KellsBells, the dress shop was abit 'blimey thats short notice'. They had to say to the designer that the wedding is 24th Dec. Any earlier & they wouldn't have taken the order. Everyone else has been good about it.

We're getting our wedding rings ordered tomorrow too. & I get to confirm my engagement ring sizing too. Hope to have them all in a couple of weeks.

I may be being abit naive about it, so I hope it all happens as it should. I'm not panicking yet. ?

    xxxx

I know it's not quite the same, but we got engaged on holiday when in Mexico at the end of April, and then got back mid May, and we booked immediately, so we had 7 months to plan everything. I have loved every second of it and haven't found the planning stressful at all...like you said, I'm actually glad that I haven't had ages to plan everything.

So pleased for you about the wedding dress - what dress did you pick?

Did you specifically want a Christmas wedding? x x x

I think you have to be abit more selective when you have less time to do things.

I have always wanted a winter wedding. (The weather won't diassapoint as my expectations will be 'it may well rain') If I had months and months, I'd have too many ideas going round my head & confuse myself. Which is why I won't go to a wedding fair either. Too much temptation!

    My dress is:

Havent worked out how to flash yet. ?

So long as it's in on time, I'll be a happy bunny. Smiley smile

I agree, I'm glad I've had to be decisive!

I LOVE your dress, it's beautiful!

I'm with you on the weather thing - you just cannot guarantee the British summer, and I thought, I'd rather accept that my photos will probably have to be indoors etc. I am only worried about there being shed loads of snow, but worrying will help no one! I love Christmas time too, so this a majoy factor in choosing a Christmas wedding.

Good luck with your planning. x

3 months on Sunday for me, eek! I bought my dress with 8 months to go and all the shops were acting like I'd completely run out of time! Think they just want to panic you into buying there and then.

We had our first planning meeting with the venue on Saturday, went through the whole day in detail. Have booked menu tasting for 2 weeks time, OH then went on to suit shop with his best man and sorted that Saturday too. I had a call this lunch time that my dress is in the shop and need to book fitting but not until the end of October she said. I have just sent back the final proof of our invites to be printed and they will be back to collect within the week. I can't believe it's all starting to happen, where has this year gone?!?! Hope everyone else is doing well x

What are your shoes like Puddycat?

I'm a bit obsessed with everyones shoes!!! I got some Irregular choice ones called "Can't Touch This" they're ivory with gold paisley type swirls, a T-Bar front with a lacy ruffle, and they've got a glass heel, very cinderella. My OH has also bought me some gold glitter baseball boots to wear in the evening!

We were 3 months on Friday, it's going so quick!! Got our menu tasting tomrrow night. Pate and crusty bread with onion marmalade, pork steak in apple and cider sauce, and warm cherry pie with white chocolate ice cream. I am salivating at the thought!
