Hi gemicle, can I ask where you ordered your candy canes from please? Also, does anyone have any suggestions on where to get a load of Christmas crackers at a decent price? X

Might have to try this Boux you speak of. I'd really like to have something a little bit special, and to surprise OH. I tried the Gossard Ooh la la basque which is lovely, but being a shortie its far too long and comes down to my knees in a not very sexy way. Back to the drawing board......

Not at all! Its lovely to find people have taken the time to send them back. We just put my email address to RSVP to but still have a couple of cards and letters from people and it was really special to get those and I will be keeping them forever.

Lets face it, its nice to get anything in the post that isnt a bank statement or a bill.....

I tried that too, I've got a really high waist though and it just DID NOT work!!! Awful!!! I was really disappointed.

We got our candy canes in the sale last year, they'd got a brilliant date on them so why they were selling them off cheap is beyond me!!! We've just bought 3kg of american marshmallows, and 16 bags of those cadbury's snowballs to go in bowls on the tables. Every time I open my kitchen cupboard I smell marshmallows!!! I think there may only be 2kg come December!!!

2 months to go December ladies! (Or less for those getting married at the beginning of December!) How is everyone getting on?

I'm having a very productive few weeks: finally sent the invitations and booked the honeymoon, in the process of booking my hen, had my hair and make up trial on Saturday, meeting with our tog tomorrow, final menu tasting next Tuesday and mine and my BMs dress fittings next Thursday. Going shopping with OH this weekend for rings and the mens' outfits and then I think I will officially have all the big things sorted!

    Hi December Brides

Just looked at my count down and it says 78 DAYS !!!

Full steam ahead now , going Wedding Ring shopping on Saturday to the B'ham jewellery quarter , this is where i got my engagement ring , wouldn't go any where else (i'm a Brummie and have been going for many years to buy jewellery there).

Day rsvp's almost in , to my surprise my OH is enjoying sorting out the table plan !!!

Will be arranging fittings shortly for myself and the B'maids .

Sorted menu and arranging the music for the meal , again OH arranging this . ?

Dark lavender sounds lovely! Its going to be so pretty and cosy with all your twinkly lights and the fire - we discounted loads of venues cos they didnt have an open fire, it was really important to us... Where are you getting married o1?

Things are slowly getting ticked off the list. Hair and make up trial done, final dress measurements done, hair thing ordered, earrings ordered, shoes bought. I love how everyone is mucking in - I've got most of my family constructing and crafting things - my poor dad's making 80 place settings out of tree slices!

It's all getting very exciting now ladies!!!

I'm meeting our cake person on Thursday for a tasting, thinking some sort of white chocolate cake but I'm hoping she'll just inspire me as I keep changing my mind about cake. Have our pre-wedding photo shoot on Saturday and have no idea what to wear for it!

RSVPs are starting to come in, still need to give out our evening invites though. Biggest problem is getting my mum's outfit. She hasn't seen anything she really loves, I just want her to feel fab on the day.

Started back on the 30 days shred yesterday. Anyone else exercising like a crazy woman?

I'm loving all this tasting malarky. We're having a cheese tower instead of a cake and have ordered a tasting box from the shop - one whole kilogram of cheese! Yum.

This does of course mean that I should be exercising like a loon, especially with Christmas in between now and the wedding, but sadly, am not. The closer it gets, the less I seem to be motivated to go to the gym....

ETA: yes, my mum is having trouble finding something too, and one of my sisters. Its hard to help as I'm so far away, but I don't want them to be stressed by it. Tricky!

59 days to go for us! Scary Mary!!

We're going for cake tastings on 3rd November, my friends Mum has been experimenting with different kinds of chocolate and ginger cakes to make sure they're sturdy enough, we're shaping them into balls as we're having a snowman, so need to nake sure they're dense enough!

We're pretty organised to be fair, only a couple of presents left to buy, table plan to sort, name tags to make, and about 30 jam jar snow domes to construct!!

Going for our pre wedding shoot on 6th November, my first dress fitting on 8th (I wanted to lose a bit of weight before they started taking it in) and that's pretty much it!!

The only downside is that I lost my Nanan a week ago so it's gonna make the day quite sad. ☹️

    Sorry about your Nan mrsbadger.

I'm getting quite nervous now! My invitations aren't going out till Friday! Save the dates were sent a couple of months ago, so should be fine.

Mostly everything is sorted, rings came on Saturday, need to organise dress fitting, meet with cake lady to finalise cake.....actually the more I think about it, I might not be as organised as I thought!

Eek so exciting to hear about everyone else's plans! My countdown says 52 days to go eek!!! People said the time would fly, but I seriously didn't realise how much!

I am definitely exercising like a crazy lady! Last night I did 2 classes at the gym back to back which is not something I ever thought I would do!!!

Is anyone else loving seeing all the Christmas things appearing in the shops?? Everyone else moans about it, but I reckon we are one group of people who love it! I've definitely started listening to Christmas music already (sad I know)! x x x

Im normally a christmas giddy anyway but this year I am even worse, we are 28th December and when people say oh god only such a time til christmas it makes me smile!! ?

I'm exercising like a crazy, I'm so tired all the time from it all but am getting so many comments already I know it will be worth it for the wedding and the honeymoon.

Mrsbadger sorry to hear about your nana, OH's grandfather passed away last weekend too and so we are pretty sad about that too however his funeral was such a lovely day about him it kind of took the sadness away. OH is a bit sad as he was his only remaining grandparent and so now he wont have any at the wedding.

Just paid the balance for my hen do this morning which is mid November,FMIL paid balance for honeymoon (we are SO lucky!!) booked make up trial for in a couple of weeks, RSVP's are flowing in, chose a table plan and placed order time with the lady. There is officially nothing left to book now! My mum keeps saying enjoy the build up and the next 10 weeks as it will fly by and she is not wrong! x

I think weddings have a lot in common with Christmas. There's a long and exciting build up with lots to organise culminating in a single day which flies by in a complete blur, then plenty of hangovers the morning after. Brides often tell me how quickly it all goes and even though people have warned them of this beforehand, nothing quite prepares them for the manicness (made up word?) of the actual day. Your mum is right - enjoy every moment and try not to wish your time away to the day, as it will all pass soon enough.

Thanks Fergo and LEA2012 , sorry to hear about your OH's grandad too. She'll be dressed in her wedding outfit so I know she's dressed in her finest wherever she is.

I've loved reading through all these today, everyone's so excited, it's getting me all giddy!!

carterusm29 (good name!!) you are totally correct!! Big build up for a short day and then a massive hangover. That's why we decided to go before Christmas, we've got something to look forward to after the day, then it's the OH's 40th on New Years Eve so it's a busy time!!

    Ooooh I can't wait guys!!!!!! ?

I love Christmastime, OH hates it as he's had a lot of bad Christmases in the past but I'm hoping to give him the best Christmas ever and a reason to love Christmas forever! I definitely agree with you that weddings and Christmas have a lot in common.

I also agree that a roaring log fire is very important! This is my ceremony room (but with the table in the middle removed obviously):

I also should be exercising like a mad woman, but I've completely lost motivation atm. I'm thinking of starting 30DS in November so the effects don't wear off before I get married!

67 sleeps for me! (23rd Dec)

We have pretty much everything sorted now. saw the registrar on Sunday and went through everything we wanted with her. I've just ordered a faux fur bolero thing from Light in the Box, so we'll see what happens there! ? Guest book, wedding card box & crystal sprinkly things on order too, oh & some personalised pants for me to wear the next day with my new Mrs surname printed on the back!

I just wish I didnt have to wait til Dec 13th for my dress! I just hope it doesn't need altering!

OH has to sort his kilt still. He's not rushing that though. I guess he's hired it before for other things so knows how long it takes.

Soo exciting girlies! December is a good month to get married. ? xxx

Hi CakeyCase. So excited to have found a date twin. Just gutted I didn't see this before. Hows it all going? I feel like I have loooaaddss left to do but don't know where to start.
I had my hen do this weekend just gone. A bit early I know but wanted it before people started christmas shopping and were short with money. Had an absolutley amazing time up in Chester. We did Go ape, followed by girly time at the hotel, cocktails, a gorgeous meal and then out to the bars but my god i'm still feeling it now, sooo tired lol.

    Wow, its coming round quickly!

i get married on 29th december so only 62 days now!

All the big things are sorted now, just paying the last few bits off and sorting our thank you gifts, crafty things for the day, honeymoon bits and my passport!

Starting to run a bit low on money and with christmas I am going to be poor for the next couple of months but it will all be worth it.

I had my hen do at the end of september at centre parcs which was amazing and my h2b has his stag next weekend.

The only thing I wish was different was that we didnt have so many arguments with the mil as she has been a bit of nightmare but i am hoping we have now drawn a line and will have a happy couple of months before the big day!

    getting so excited now xxxx
