    Congratulations!

I still feel like I have so much to do..... need to finish table plan, candy stall plans and will be doing table places next week (spray painting pine cones!). need to make sure the bridesmaids dresses fit, sort their make up and hair (they are doing their own) and jewellery.

Having a bit of a wobble with my make up, had my trial last week which I loved but having really dark, smokey eyes with black, blues and greens and worried its not going to look great.

i still need to sort guest signing bits, presents (not all the thank yous presents sorted) and writing out my briefing sheets (litle ocd i know but i have to make sure) for all suppliers.

    oh and christmas!!

Hi all! I'm getting married 12-12-12 and although I don't post on here a lot, I do read the threads!

We're just putting the finishing touches on everything now, starting to pay final balances and making final decisions RE music, menu and ceremony material.

Can't believe it's come around this fast... I never believed anyone when they said 2 years planning would go quickly!

I know it has gone soooo quickly. I seemed to have loads of energy at the beginning to do stuff but now I would quite happily pay someone to sort all the last little bits out. We just don't seem to have any time off left together before the wedding as the only 2 weekends my OH is off now B4 the wedding is his stag do and then my hen night. Could do with a couple of weeks off work to sort it all out really.

15 days till we fly out 19 days till the wedding, the biggest thing I have to do is table plan & place setting. I have my dress at home (which I keep trying on) I guess I have 4-5 things left to do, so not much at all really.

    Its so exciting!

    Hi

Only 43 days to go for me !

Just had my second fitting , i'm having a tea length dress and adding a coloured underskirt to match the bridesmaids' dresses.

Everything going to plan currently , but i'm now realising that Christmas is on its way and i need to organise myself for this.

Got my December rota and i'm working over the main christmas period but have already booked the mani and peddi for the day before on the 29th. x

Wow congrats those who are expecting, what wonderful news (not so great that you have last minute dresses to buy- tho i know they'll be worth it!)

I am sooooo stressed, my other half has been such a rock recently, my work is driving me to distraction, i'm doing my masters and what with wedding stuff too it's just too much AND my boobs are too small for my dress Smiley sad, have lost a bit of weight (with exercise was aiming for the tummy area, but tried it on today and it gapes at my boobs Smiley sad luckily my nan used to make ballroom gowns so she suggested a modesty bone... now i just have to find one!

wonder what the next unexpected bump in the road will be!

Also whoever posted the met site - you are a genius!!

Seems like a lot of us are having unexpected stuff coming up Smiley smile

I have had my aunt being stubborn wanting her youngest son (who I have never met) to be the ring-bearer, when I said I wanted him to be pageboy with my other cousin's sons. I am a little annoyed when I already have a ring-bearer that I know a little better. The relative has a bit of a reputation for being stubborn though, now its just up to my mother to sort out her sister (which might be a bit of a challenge).

Yes it seems like we are all having some unexpected changes ... Congrats to the expecting tho Smiley smile this is an exciting good change!! I unfortunately had to find a new photographer as I hadnt heard from mind since sept 2011, shop was shut, business & personal number cut off, not responding to letters or the venue asking her to contact me!! She finally contacted me on Friday after receiving a cancellation letter from me!! Apparently it's normal practice to not speak to a bride until 2 weeks before wedding & we have lost her business bla bla bla!! Everything happens for a reason tho as my new photographer is great & even knocked money off to compensate our lost deposit!! & I love his work!! Not long now for me few more bits to do but nothing major starting to enjoy the wedding build up x

Thanks everyone and congrats too to Rach. I got round the sober hen issue do by having it just before I found out, though luckily it was a lot less debauched than I was expecting - maybe in the back of my mind I knew and held back a little...? I'm more concerned now about missing out on the mulling season!

Decided on our vows last night and will have my first fitting on Saturday. Fingers crossed all the extra grub I've been scoffing lately hasnt made too much difference!

Does anyone know if you have to have a meeting with the registrar before the wedding to discuss the music and readings etc? We live miles away and I expect would find it difficult to find time to go especially all that way between now and then, so is a phone call good enough?

Sooooo close now ladies. I need to refocus a bit as my head is all babies at the moment...

We emailed our music, vows and readings to the registrar and they just emailed back to confirm it was all ok. We live about 45 minutes away from ours and we never go to the part of town so it was just easier! They also said we could ring with them.

Yeah we emailed all ours through for them to confirm, and they said that all was ok. They sent us an order of service, and said that we would each have a meeting just before the ceremony, but I think that's just to make sure you know each other and you're not brother and sister!!!

    Congratulations BTW x

Congratulations to the new mums to be!

I think it must be different then in different areas as we have to have a meeting with our registrar which I have just booked this week. She said it will take about half and hour and she will go through the ceremony and what to do / expect etc. When we first booked the registrar at the beginning of the year though it said on the letter we received that we would have to have this meeting approx 6 weeks prior to the wedding and so maybe check any correspondence you have had from them?

It was my hen this weekend and Im feeling very delicate today! I was hoping not to get too drunk but unfortunately that turned out not to be the case!!!!! ?

Ours was brill, we were sat in the corridor outside before hand, and a young couple came out followed by the guy questioning them, and he told them they'd got to come back another time!!!! It was like "YOU FAILED THE TEST!!! You cannot marry this person!!!!" Haha!

The guy looked like a little troll, all wonky eyed and sporadic hair, I wondered whether he got the job to try and put you off!!!

Hen night was ace thanks, all starting to feel very real now!

I woke up far too early this morning and had a nosey though the posts to make a list of all our December brides so we can get good luck threads started, there are a few up already but I didn't want anyone to miss out on getting one. The ones in bold are already started, I'll try update this post whenever new ones are added but bare with me if I fall behind. I think traditionally date twins start them for each other but feel free to dive in for anyone who doesn't have a date twin. And remember no reading your thread until you are ready to sign off, or you'll get spots!

    Morning December Brides!!!

Thats so strange to see the list - its definetly happening now Smiley smile

We are pretty much done, met with the photographer, florist and venue in the past few weeks so thats all confirmed now - just need to pay everyone! We only have a few bits and pieces to do now such as buying the candles to go in all the holders.....

Is anyone else starting to panic slightly about snow??!!

I'm worried about the weather abit. (....Checks insurance just incase...)

We've got abit of flooding here at the moment, but I hope it's all sorted by the day. So long as the main roads are clear, we should be ok.

We finalised our seating plan yesterday. Three people can't come now. They didn't let us know, we had to chase them! Relatives are a pain in the ar53!! But them not coming has freed up space for friends we would rather have had anyway. ? Every cloud & all that.

OH is doing the place setting cards today. Our venue has a Christmas wedding day on Sunday, so we'll go along to see the decorations & decide if we want to change anything.

& most importantly, I got THE call yest to say my dress is in!!!! First fitting this Thurs!!! I can now relax as I was worrying about it getting here on time.xxx

Big round of applause for Kriek for being uber-organised in starting and listing good luck threads!

I also am slightly anxious about the weather, none of my family live anywhere near me (I'm in Liverpool, they are in Oxfordshire) and so all my mother keeps talking about is what if it snows and nobody can come! Yes thanks mother cos I need that extra worry right now! Lol, they way I look at it is that the majority of people are travelling up the day before and so worst case scenario they will just have to take their time, be careful and travel all day! If not and people can't get there then we will just have to get on with things and accept that these things happen, it's not likely but the way I see it there is not a huge amount you can do about it. The other part of me is actually hoping for snow (but not so bad that it stops people travelling) as from a very selfish view point we could have some beautiful pictures!

I work from home at the moment and my computer systems went down on Friday afternoon and I had nothing to do and so I tied 90 name tags to 90 organza favour bags...definitely the crappiest part of wedding planning so far but it's done now! We stayed in on Friday night with a bottle of wine and sorted our table seating plan together, this was much more fun but also much harder than I expected! ?

I have my 4th dress fitting tomorrow which fingers crossed will be my final one, I had a bit of a disaster where the dress shop went into liquidation and they basically dumped this huge size 18 dress on my doorstep but I have been seeing the most fabulous seamstress who has taken it in and made so many adjustments that it's back to the fantastic dress I first fell in love with. I cried at my last fitting as I had forgotten how much I loved it and seeing it fitting and looking beautiful made me realise how soon it was that I would be wearing it!

We are so busy the next few weeks but I'm so looking forward to the build up. I know I am biased but I definitely think we have picked a lovely time of year to get married!! x
