Hannah, how are your wedding plans going? are you getting married in Swindon?

Getting married in St Margarets Church in Stratton and then to Alexandra House in Wroughton for the reception. Starting to get into a phase of spending all my spare time planning now! Done most of the big stuff but still have no flowers or cake sorted ?. How about you? Where are you getting married and when?

We are going to look at Alexandra House as a possible venue for our UK reception (we are having a small wedding in Greece in August 2013 then a reception back here for everyone else).

St Margarets is a lovely church

Even though we are so far ahead have got a lot planned for the actual wedding which is all booked and most of the work being done by our planner, just got to start sorting the reception at this end now.

Would you mind my asking what sort of deal you got from Alexandra House for your reception?

I went to try on my dress at Ameila Classics in Chippenham. The lady there is lovely, very helpful and they have some stunning dresses.

I went there on Friday, the lady was indeed lovely :-) there wasnt anything that i really loved there though. (i think im being very picky though!) She did say they get the 2012 stock in dec/jan so i may wait until then. I am going to swindon next friday to have a look in Lesley Hatcher Bridal as id seen a dress on the website i liked.

I need to sort a cake, cheap as possible! We want a chocolate cake as we dont like fruit cake!

Also oh wants to buy his suit and hire for best man and ushers but would like them to match! any ideas!?

Annie, Alexandra house have been brilliant, they have accommodated everything we've asked for. We told them how much we wanted to spend per head and they fixed us a menu to suit, £20 per head for a 2 course meal, which I think is pretty good for a wedding. No venue hire fee or anything like that. Same for the evening buffet, we told them how much per head and they came up with a menu. Went to a wedding there a few weeks ago and I thought the food was fab so really pleased with the price. We also got free accommodation for the night for ourselves and both sets of parents.

I work in Chippenham. I am having a lady who lives local do my cake for me hopefully. I can't remember her website name but I could find out if you are interested. If you're heading into Swindon then also try Bridal Boutique, they also have a suit hire shop next door so you could have a look there too and get some ideas.

I'm based in Bristol but work all over Swindon, Wilts, Reading, Newbury areas.
