Any other Hitchers thinking a Black & White Colour Scheme?

**Shelley**, 25 October, 2011 at 09:30 Posted on Planning 0 33

H2B and I are thinking about having a black and white colour scheme for our wedding - an elegant black dress for bridesmaid, black ribbons on the cake, black tie backs on the chairs - white table clothes/chair covers/napkins,then add a little bit of bling her and there with some diamonte brooches etc. H2B wants a splash of red somewhere but as yet not sure where we could incorporate it.

Any other Hitchers following this trend?

I kind of did. Black, white and Fuschia. Looked amazing; but I am biased.

I love the black and white theme - do it!

    ?

Wow fuschia sounds lovely! It will be red as both our favourite colour and he wants red in his tie. Did you have a lot of fuschia or just a hint?

    It's gorgeous!

Did you have to supply all the chair covers? I assume that if you did, you hired them and, if so, did the company deliver and dress or did you have to do that yourself? You can no doubt tell I am VERY new to this!!

Our venue supplied the chair covers and dressed the venue for us on the day of the wedding so we didnt have to do anything,

Ask away, we were all new once.

We are having a black, white and diamond theme. Have gone very dramatic with our venue dressing. Ask away.

We're having black, white and red. I think b&w on its own might not look exciting enough - a splash of colour here and there is always good!

WOW! Everyone has such lovely ideas!

I think for use it's black & white with a splash of red and some diamonte touches for pazazz! Smiley surprise)

What about the sashes though? Did you supply them? Or do they have a box of delights full up of lots of different colour sashes?

I like the idea of black candelarbras but H2B thinks it's a bit gothic! I would drape them in some jewels or something to jazz them up.

Trickers2 - hope you don't mind but forwarded the link of your venue to H2B as it's gorgeous and we've not found anywhere yet! Smiley surprise)

    Hi Shelly,

My client had a black and white theme with a added colour of turquoise for their wedding day.

It looked fabulous. very contemporary. We used the three colours all the way through, the bridesmaids was dressed in black, very smart.

    Hi

We are having black, white & grey/silver as i love them and they are the colours we had for our engagement party./invites as it should all tie in togethher.

I struggled with ideas for centrepieces but i have now found the perfect ones. I think a splash of red would be lovely, were adding grey as OH will only war grey suits!! x

Sorry to butt in, but just to second what Trickers said, Trunkwell House were fabulous for my friend's wedding day back in September. Food was lovely, and the wedding co-ordinator there was outstanding. x

I remember seeing some photos once of a wedding where they had a black and white theme, pretty much as you described, but then they had the most amazing deep red flowers as bouquets and centrepieces.

We're going black, ivory and silver. bm's in black (a two bird bridesmaid dress), invites were ivory and black with some silver and in black envelopes (table plan being made from left over materials so will match), having ivory chair covers with a mix of black and silver sashes, black and clear crystals on the tables alongside silver candleabras and tealights everywhere.

I think black and white is a really elegant way to go Smiley smile

Ooh that's a good idea. I've been considering a bead bouquet for myself and pretty pomander for my neice and sister - these could indeed be red! H2B wants to wear grey also, and wanted the red in his tie. Would have to think how I could incorporate red in with me.
