Any other March 2014 brides here?

Penny P, 10 September, 2013 at 13:34 Posted on Planning 0 12

I am hoping to get married on 1st March next year (I say hoping because we are still trying to find a venue!!)

Am I mega behind? Nothing is booked yet, we know the 'church' is available, as is the minister and registrar. All of the venues we have looked at are also available but we still have a couple left to see this week and are going to decide and book at the beginning of next week.

I have my dress and the bridesmaid's dresses. H2B has his suit, and I have visions in my head of how the decorations will be at the 'church' and venue (I am in the process of making some of them it's a very DIY wedding :-) ).

We have drawn up a guest list (for both ceremony/reception and evening do), we have done table plans. My sister is doing my hair and make up and she is also making the wedding cake!

Photographer's have been contacted and are available on the day but we haven't made a decision on that either!

Should I be panicking?? How is your planning going March Brides?

    I'm a March bride too - we're getting married on the 14th.

Most of our planning is done. Just trying to finalise the cake and will print the invites soon. OH will be sorting the men's suits out in January. Just little things for us now but then I'm a control freak and had to be super organised!

    Happy planning ?

Eek! Seems like we are leaving everything a bit late.

The venue search has beena nightmare, nowhere big enough unless you have a marquee (not greatin March!)

What timeis your ceremoney and meal? We're a bit worried about losing daylight for outside photos, but we don't want to do everything too early as we don't want it to drag for people....I

Good date! We're getting married 01st March next year and although we booked the venue last October, we've really only started doing the majority of the planning in the last month. I only found my dress the weekend before last and had been starting to think i would be walking up the aisle in my underwear and a veil! In the past four weeks I have booked the photographer, men's kilts, bridesmaid dresses (although we had decided on the colour ages ago), my dress, cars, hairdresser, invites and we went to see a florist last night who I think we will be booking one we receive her quotation.

Good luck with the venue hunting!

Our ceremony is as 1pm and the meal will probably be between 4 and 5pm. We want to be able to sneak away for half hour or so before the meal to have some alone time. So many people have told us to make sure we get a bit of time together as it's such a blur.

I wouldn't worry too much about daylight, it's practically spring so you should be fine. I know what you mean about marquee in March though ?

We're lucky we're only having a smallish wedding (50 day, 100 evening) so venue wasn't a problem for us. Where abouts are you?

Hi, I am getting married on the 15th March and we only started planning about a month ago. We still have to sort bridesmaid dresses, flowers, my accessories, decorations and favours for the venue, plus name cards and a table plan. We're meeting with a photographer tomorrow. So you aren't alone, don't worry. 6 months is plenty of time imo! Xx

I'm on the Isle of Wight. Our day will be around 150 - 170 in the evening and at the moment around 50 -60 for the day (so not that big).

I'm off to look at another venue this afternoon and the last tomorrow evening. I'm starting to find it stressful, especially when I found out how much venues charge for food! EEk!

Good idea about making time for yourself and H2B on the day, will try to do that too :-)

So Monday I booked the venue, church, minister and registrar! We are giving notice next week.

Bridesmaid dresses on order (to arrive this week) My dress bought (but alterations to be done)

The rest is just scribbles in a book and pictures in my inspiration folder! Tonnes to do (and weight to lose!)

Look! It's creeping up on me (ticker below)

We are getting married 15th march, you sound fairly sorted - venue aside, once you have booked that the other things come together really quickly, i am not sure if i am just really not stressing but once we had a few weeks of planning, there doesn't seem to be much more to do in between! I will try bump the march thread!
