Any unusual ideas like magicians for entertainment?

Abbotshade, 11 May, 2009 at 19:26 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hiya,

I've helped my sister organize her wedding and now a friend's is coming up... With my sister I found a practical (and memorable) way to help photo time pass or to help conversation get percolating at tables was to have one or two wedding magicians. (Christopher in the link is who we had). My friend is thinking of having an after dinner show as well - something unusual. What other things has anyone done for entertainment that's out-of-the-ordinary?

Cheers,

Kit

    Pffft!

    I wouldn't call hiring a magician "out-of-the-ordinary"......

................but getting the PG tips monkeys to put on a tea-party show - NOW THAT IS DIFFERENT!

(disclaimer - ooh la la is not suggesting that a Chimp tea-party is the way forwards in wedding entertainment, due to animal welfare issues.)

We're having singing waiters at the end of the meal (they'll actually serve the desserts and coffee)! It's the hardest secret I've ever had to keep... I keep nearly spilling the beans, but it all depends on only me and OH knowing about it...

We are having my daughters favourite magician for the children, I think anything a bit different would get people talking. For the evening we have decided to have a sweet table with all the old fashioned sweets OH and me used to eat when we were younger, we are catering for the children, adults, and the diabetics, im so excited about the sweet table, not many people know about it and I know it will get people talking.

I'm having strippers at my reception.

Either that or a dove release. Can't decide.

    Ooh...I like your ideas Ali....lol

We are having a magician/pick pocket who will mingle with our guests after the meal. We have about 1.5 hours to fill until the evening do so it's ideal!

He was expensive though but what he does is amazing...going to be one of the talking points of the day I think!
