Anybody making their own table plan?

jojo2, 9 September, 2011 at 14:48 Posted on Planning 0 4

I planned on using individual picture frames on a table as my table plan, but have recently found some gorgeous textured patterned paper in Paperchase and would like to try making a traditional plan. Is it best to use card or stretched canvas to mount the paper onto as a background.

Any suggestions appreciated ?

I expect I'll make my own, it should be such an easy job, but I haven't got that far yet.

As to card or canvas, either would be goos. It just depends on the look you want.

Ours is mounted on a 70cm square mirror from Ikea, with home printed and laminated seating plans stuck on with double sided sticky pads.

It looks something like this. Actually, a lot like this Smiley smile It's mounted on a very cheap artists tabletop easel that's just big enough, on sale in a local art shop. A massive bulldog clip holds the upright of the easel to the little bit of cross strengthening wood on the back of the mirror.

    Very nice AJ!

Im also making my own, i have bought a large canvas (£2.99 from a Home bargians type shop, gold card £2 ebay, purple organza chair sash 99p and free delivery ebay) Just need some nice cream paper to print on and i will mount the cream on the gold and i have a 3d butterfly punch for the corners of each table.

Prob sounds awfull but in my head i know it will look ok!

I've bought a canvas and i've got some cath kidston wallpaper that i'm hoping to cover the canvas with, then print out the table plan on individual cards and stick them on somehow! Then we'll just put the canvas on an easel. That's the plan anyway! This is the print (any excuse to flash!):

Thanks for replies. I saw the stretched cavnas in hobbycraft and quite like the look of it. Will have a look in the works or somewhere similar for a cheaper one. The mirror is a good idea too AJ. I will probably re-use my picture frames elsewhere on the day for signs and photo's.
