Anyone a nurse or knowledgeable on gynae issues

jozzym, 6 May, 2009 at 11:46 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

I have a quick question which not sure if anyone can help with.

I had an early miscarriage at 5 weeks pregnant about 3 weeks ago. I have had my call up letter for my smear, they said at the early pregnancy unit that I could have this done 6 weeks after the miscarriage, but have just spoken to the nurse who would be doing it and she advised 12 weeks.

Neither of them seemed very sure, does anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance for any help.

So sorry to hear about your loss jozzym. ?

I was advised to wait 12 weeks, if that helps.

I had a smear within 6 weeks of miscarriage as I could not carry on fertility treatment without a clear smear.

In fact I had a smear and pregnant natuarlly before the results of my smear came back - within 2 months.
