Anyone cooking anything special tomorrow?

Gryfon, 13 February, 2009 at 15:28 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 32

I was thinking of doing something as I'm not babysitting now, trouble is I can't decide what and thought I'd see what other people were doing to get ideas ?

I will see what the fish market has to offer in the morning, so can't really tell until then.

    I fancy mussels though.

I'm toying with the idea of boiling H's head up and throwing it in with some vegetables and making a soup. Haven't decided for sure yet.

    Happy Valentine's ?

Still negotiating with Mr F about who gets to cook what. Might wander over to the butcher later and see what they've got.

My friend is having people round for her birthday, so I am going to make a couple of cakes and some lemon shortbread to take along. No romance for Mr L and me tomorrow - I think hell may freeze over first, he despises Valentine's Day ?

I am cooking Moroccan lamb shanks for my H, my parents, my sister & BIL. Family time=fun time, no?

Guess my H can beat Baron & his MIL/wife combo - there will be mother & 2 daughters together ;-)

Nothing. We're going out to a birthday party where we will almost definitely drink too much. That'll do.

We are having a takeaway, not sure which at the moment. I would prefer Chinese but I think H is angling for Thai.

I might use my heart-shaped hard boiled egg shaper but otherwise no. We have some great looking pheasant sausages from the farmer's market so will be eating those with some mash but only because it's saturday, nothing to with V day.

We're not really in to the whole Valentine thingy but MrS has decided we should make an effort and cook a nice meal tomorrow night. So we're having Nigella's scallops & chorizo followed by venison steak with creamed cabbage and celeriac and dauphinoise potatoes. No pud just lovely cheese.

Well if H has money I might talk him into getting me a chicken kebab (about the only thing I can think of that's possibly allowed on our diet). Otherwise no, just a chicken casserole or something.

H is cooking tomorrow. He always does on Valentine's Day. It's our only concession to the day.

I know we are having a chinese theme but not sure what. I've just made a Nigella's chocolate baked cheesecake which we'll have for dessert.

We've got M&S Dine in for £20: scallops, steak & chips, chocolate souffle washed down with rose cava and a red rose on the table.

If I were cooking I'd do parma ham, mozzarella & peach salad; beef wellington with potato dauphinoise and tiramisu.

Mmmm I'm hungry now, thanks guys!

Mr G has bought home enchiladas to cook tomorrow, which is fine as they're yummy ? Maybe his birthday I'll get to cook something posh! Continental hams, cheeses and olives sounds good.

I think H is cooking tomorrow night - scallops with pancetta to start with then I think he's doing a thai beef curry. Don't think he's making the pudding though, so it'll be something shop bought.
