Anyone else a 2014 bride?

Me and my OH are planning a 2014 wedding, it doesn't seem too far away seeing as were in April 2012 already! We haven't set an exact date yet as we are marrying abroad but soon the date will be set and the countdown on! x

Oooh 4of us already. I wonder why that one is so popular. H2b chose the date so it wasn't in football season lol but it is smack bang in the middle of the world cup.

Oh dear! I hadn't thought of that!

It should be ok, our potential venue is the executives function room at the local football stadium (football family) so apparently they'll have tv's playing the match .. Brilliant.x

We picked the date as it will be our 6th anniversary of getting together, and in summer (and the only 26th July on a Saturday for a while)

Doesnt seem that long away but my H2B keeps suggesting we bring it forward a year!!! Not a chance in hell, as I need time to save and plan but it is lovely he wants to get married so badly!

EDIT: also with the world cup, I hadn't even realised but H2B isn't a football fan and I will be going all bridezilla if they have it on, on the TV on my wedding day!! I can't see it being a huge problem, but would be annoyed if anyone close to me kicks up a fuss 'cause of that!

2nd EDIT: just googled "world cup 2014" and this came up - "

Oh thank god! His family are bloody loons when it comes to football. I've already had bridezilla moments so this wasn't really a welcome development, haha.

We originally wanted August but our venue doesn't hire out in football season and I have my heart set on the room! So we chose the last weekend of July, plus both of the mothers work in schools which means they have their holidays then (free help in the remaining days!) .. I wish it could be a more romantic reason but we got together on October 1st and I don't want a rainy wedding!!

We're off to book our venue next week when OH has a week off work! How exciting

Haha you say that but the past few Octobers have been lovely! I'm worrying about rain in July, as our actual Summers haven't been brill ☹️

Good point actually! Last October was gorgeous! But I didn't really want to risk it .. He's not too happy about the date either because it's too close to my birthday (29th July) and that's "too much to remember" haha! Men... Who'd have them?

Im going to book my church and my venue next week, hopefully they're both available on the same day .. And then it's time to start trying to lose weight so I can find a dress! Xx

I can't imagine they're already booked for that day, but one of the venues we went to was!!

Haha, I'm the one that forgets our anniversary so lucky they'll both be on the same day ?

29th of June, I'm spreading the planning out so I'm not stressed!!

We need the extra time to save up a bit more cash, and I go back to Uni in September for 3 years. So juggling Studies, A Child and wedding planning while the other half works away Monday-Friday is not the best option, so getting as much done now as I can!

when is everybody trying on dresses? i was thinking jan 2013 onwards? is that too early? i think i'm going to be a fussy one...i already kind of tried on 2 (at a sample sale, wasn't really the bridal experience or anything i wanted so im not counting them)

I'm planning on trying on dresses from Jan 2013 too give me plenty of time to look around, and I want to actually order it a year before, so it will give me just less than 5 months ?

I don't have a date yet but we are keen on may 2014!! Have found the venue just need to finalise things before setting the date!!!!!

I'am getting married on the 14th June 2014, the church is booked and myself and my OH have found our reception venue. We already have so much planned but it seems like its ages away but hopefully it will fly by, as we are both soo EXCITED !! x x

We are Sat 24 May 2014, its a bank holiday weekend

Although nothing is booked yet, we would like to get married on 23 June 2014 which will be our 6th anniversary. Would have liked to have got married next year but we need to do a bit of saving first!
