I can help with shrewsbury/telford area. My reception is at the buckatree (nr the wrekin) lovely gardens and views, very helpfull staff (and lots more but I'm biased) also went to see the wroxeter - not much to look at outside garden wise but plenty of nice pic opportunities, good conservatory but the big function room could do with at update. Mytton and Mermaid - great location, have seen some gorgeous pics from here, lots of choices the food but was a tad too expensive for our budget.

Shrewsbury area we looked at the albrighton hall and the albright hussey, both are absolutely gorgeous, we just felt we wanted something a bit different to what feels the norm with everyone we know, plus we have guests from both shrewsbury and telford. If you can travel the lion quays in oswestry - we loved it, was just to far to travel! There are loads more here, it just depends what you are looking for!

Someone else mentioned the museum to me on here but we had already fallen in love with the buckatree.

    Happy planning....me n h2b loved this bit!

Hi, my wedding is in shropshire - my venue is the Park House Hotel in Shifnal. I also looked at the ironbridge musuems - i didnt even know you could get married there but i think it's a great idea for somewhere "different". We'd already settled on the Park House before i recieved the info from ironbridge but i was really impressed with it - the prices were pretty comparable to other more "regular" venues and i especially loved the idea that you could marry in Blists Hill museum complete with victorian fairground!!

When are you getting married? :-)

We chose the museum cos of the victorian theme we are hoping to do the wedding in a victorian/modern style theme bit weird but seems cool.
