Anyone else having 2 ceremonies?

Damiana, 15 April, 2008 at 10:16 Posted on Planning 0 2

We are having 2 ceremonies on the day, one civil, to get the legal bit over and done with, and then a pagan handfasting - hopefully with a bit of a break in between.

I dont suppose anyone else is/has had a wedding where they have 2 ceremonies. if so, what are your planned timings. we need to book the registrar, but dont want to book the wrong timings. Plus, most people are going to be staying nearby at hotels etc so we need to take into account that people will need to check into hotels etc!!

aaahhhhhhh and its still over a year away!

A very good friend of mine did last ear but she had them over 2 days. They had a legal registry office ceremony on the Friday followed by a meal with just the close family. Then they had the proper wedding on the saturday. Was awkward because the had a catholic ceremony in an anglican college chapel, all very complicated but would have meant the wedding would not have been legal. They had a full reception after the wedding on the saturday.

We shoot a lot of weddings where there are two ceremonies, mainly these are Asain weddings where they have a civil ceremony. Here is one with a church service followed by a Sikh wedding.

I dont suppose anyone has any idea of what timings could be.

I was thinking of ideally the civil ceremony to start at 1.30, but it makes checking in difficult. i think if we have any later, it might not have enough time

    What do u think

    Thanks
