Anyone else having trouble deciding on colour for wedding?

*ROSSI*, 16 March, 2011 at 22:15 Posted on Planning 0 12

Hi Girls,

Just wondered if anyone else is having a nightmare trying to decide upon the colour/s for your wedding? Red is my main colour but I definately would like another colour to go. I quite like red & burnt orange or red & charcoal grey but I just can't seem to make up my mind. I keep on asking everyone else hoping something would help make up my mind but just can't get there and it's been going on for months now!

I suppose the simpled question is why do you need another colour? Red and white or red and ivory could look simple yet stunning on their own

Am having a similar issue. We have a semi-Chinese fusion theme but I don't want to go for red (which would be the most obvious colour). Wedding end of Sept so could go for autumn colours but really want to do something a bit different.

Bridesmaids desperate to have magenta colour but I'm still unsure on that one too.

That said, I do have a wedding dress which is a warm cream colour so I'm sorted - it's just the rest of 'em! lol

Hi PompeyEm, thanks for your reply Smiley smile The reason is because i kind of feel that i have to have red (because my Fiance looks his best in a red kilt so I'm trying to co-ordinate) but I wouldn't have chose red had this not been the case - so I'm trying to get the best of both by having red and another colour i really like too. I really would have gone for royal blue but apparently that looks too much together with the red to fit it in. You're right red & white / ivory definately would be a simpler option and probably just as nice but I just have my heart set on 2 colours because of this. It's a dilema! I'm usually very decisive normally but not with this one!

Well, we''re having a red white and blue theme (or at least burgundy, navy and ivory!) so I hope red and blue together aren't too bad! Have you throught about pulling out one of the other colours from his dress tartan?

That colour scheme sounds really nice, navy looks lovely in weddings I think Smiley smile What do you think about red & royal blue - i really like it because I like strong colours according to a florist I was talking to she thought it would be hard to match items together with them. His kilt has black, maroon & grey in it so maybe that is the 'sign'! - maybe the charcoal grey is the answer. When I look at the pictures Sherri kindly attached I do like the burnt orange aswell though. Oh decisions!

We're having navy and ivory with splashes of red. I think it looks lovely... think of the British flag, street parties with red white and blue bunting etc Smiley smile

Anniepie, this has really helped to think of it in a different way. Possibly I could go ahead with the Royal Blue for everything but just have the guys in red kilts with a royal blue buttonholes. Thanks so much to everyone! xxx

I always wanted a red dress, so I'm having one, my OH's family colours give him a blue & green tartan, my bridesmaids chose silver grey as thier main colour - so not dissimilar to your options.

Ignore your OH's colours for a moment and think about what you want for you & your BMs.
