Anyone else marrying a military guy?

leanneboo1987, 27 April, 2011 at 14:49 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi,

Just wondering whether any of you lovely ladies are marrying a military guy, and if so are you doing anything in particular at the wedding.

My OH will be in his full Royal Marine Suit "blues" but I would love to have a few other touches in military style. Having real trouble finding any examples though.

Any help would be great!

    Me!

OH is wearing his uniform, as is OHs uncle but nothing else going on really.

I know you can have a Guard of honor (which we gave up trying to organise) and you can hire the regimental sword to cut the cake.

I am, my h2bs in the RAF but unfortunately he won't wear his uniform as he didn't want to be the only one wearing a uniform. He still looks gorgeous in the suit he's chosen tho! Getting married on Sunday and I'm so nervous! X

I married a military man! Hubby wore his "ones" and so did all the lads. We had guard of honour outside of church! Other than that we didn't go mad with military things, I though men in uniform were enough!

We have decided on my OH wearing his "blues" the little cake topper bride and groom will be in his Blues also, and the table names are going to be military based - think it will be bases and companies etc.

Think that will be enough of a hint of military for the day now.

My OH will be in number ones, plus his bestman and 2 ushers. The ushers wanted swords for the day but we thought swords + drink = trip to A&E!!! Our cake topper will reflect his uniform too and that's about it. OH is dreading people saluting but some people will do it no doubt, and he will just need to grit his teeth and smile!!!

My OH will be in his number Ones & we are having a dozen RAF swords from RAF Halton so we have a sword party after the ceremony. Air Command are lending us 10 solid silver candelabra which will be used in our table decorations. I would like a personalised cake topper with OH in his uniform & me on a horse but OH isn't so keen on that idea unfortunately.
