Anyone else not having a Honeymoon ??

LittleMissB, 8 May, 2011 at 00:27 Posted on Planning 0 6

As the title says, myself and my H2B have not planned or budgeted for a honeymoon, the reason mainly being that we have 3 children that we would need someone to have and simply cant afford to and our main thing is the wedding itself although my lovely mum has contributed to the day we are paying for everything else.

Is anyone else in the same situation, or simply just not doing the whole honeymoon thing or are we the only ones ???

We got 2 little uns 2 and 3 and we arent going on honeymoon (well planning it) we are asking for money to contribute, and if we have enough we are just turning up and the travel agents and then try and get one for say 2 days time (if this makes sense). We are hoping for about £200, as we can still go somewhere in the UK.

PS: We have never had a holiday just me and OH, so fingers crossed.

Nope, we're not either. I wanted one, but we also have 3 children and just can't afford it. Plus there's a distinct lack of willing relatives to look after the three Smalls! We're (hopefully) going to Sonisphere festival in July though, so we'll treat that as our sort of honeymoon.

Phew !! Thought no one was going to reply and that we were on our own on that one.?

Same, its really hard to get a sitter at the best of times for all 3 to be honest, although we are regular sitters for everyone elses children - IYKWIM !!

I would love to go to Paris so maybe get to do that at some point on our own, (when we're like '60'?)

No we're not having one either, can't afford it on top of the wedding, although both sets of parents have offered to take the week after the wedding off work to have the children, well my parents have offered to have the children his parents have just offered to have the youngest ?

Could have written this myself! Everyones like 'oh we will have them' but we couldn't even get someone to have them for a few hours on a weekend day so we could go chose our rings!!

I just posted a thread about honeymoon costs as we'd love one but don't have a budget for it, Ive been told were getting money towards it as gifts so will see.

On one hand id love to go to disney land paris with the kids- maybe convince someone to come along to watch the kids in the evening so we can have a break but H2b keeps saying if we have one then we need a honeymoon alone as weve only been away once together which was with his family when our son was 2 so not the same!

We haven't planned one yet, but might do nearer the time. We haven't budgeted for one either (mainly as we haven't got a budget as such) so will probably see what is available, and what we can afford nearer the time. that's if we decide to have one. A honeymoon isn't really a must have thing for us.

We've got 3 kids, with another due in 4 weeks, and will leave them with their grandparents if we decide to go away.

As with you LittleMissB, our wedding is the main thing, a honeymoon would just be a bonus.

No not us either. We had planned to have a short break but had to change our date and now I can't get time off work (I work term time so am not aloud to take time off when the kids are at school).

    May be next year☹️

    xx
