Anyone else snowed in?

I know it is only 4am, but we have 6 inches of snow here and it is still snowing. I ca't see where the pavement ends and the road begins. It looks like it is a day staying in today. Even though I've been driving for 25 years, I would not be happy attempting the school run this morning in this...

I know it is only 4am, but we have 6 inches of snow here and it is still snowing.

I ca't see where the pavement ends and the road begins.

It looks like it is a day staying in today. Even though I've been driving for 25 years, I would not be happy attempting the school run this morning in this weather (not even sure if the school will be open!), so it looks like my son will be getting the day off school! (1st day off in 2 years so I'm not too worried)

How abot other people - anyone else in this position today?

Just taken another patio measurement - 20.5cm of snow.

H cannot get the car out of the car park, so he is going to try again in an hour, if not, it is a snow day for him as well!

Several inches in SE13. Apparently there are no trains through Lewisham so I've stayed home. H has gone in as he goes via DLR but I can't get to Westminster as the Jubilee line is shut. Seems half my office haven't made it in today either.

I've just got home after being involved in an accident due to the snow. Am ok, the car is ok, the other drivers and cars are all ok. We were all very lucky. I am blinking freezing however and a little bit shook up.

Hate driving in snow anyways, but this morning's happenings have made that worse. ?

It's currently snowing in Edinburgh. I was due to be flying to London this morning for meetings - the airline said my flight was still scheduled, even though the other flights on the same route were cancelled, so I duly turned up at the airport. My flight is still scheduled, but it's not going to go take off until 14.20 at the earliest, so I made the executive decision to just come back to the office. ?

Oh yes, I work for a Canadian company and they all think it's hilarious at how bad we are at coping. Tomorrow it will be 'snow, call that snow, I'll show you proper snow' etc, etc

Both of the girls schools are closed, so i didnt have to slip and slide all over the place.

However, my H has cycled to work! Its 15 miles, and he text and said he had done it in record time. Personally i would have cancelled my meetings and stayed in the warm, but there you go!

? Snowbound here too. We went out for dinner last night and caught the wrong bus home (not drunked, honest!) and ended up in Peckham - it was chucking it down and we're actually really lucky we managed to get a bus home - it was nearly 1 am by then ?

I'm off work as school is closed but as I live on the coast we have only fairly light snow and it's sunny! There are clouds looming though, and I'm spending the time being jealous of people's snow day pics on Facebook - there's only about an inch here, not enough to build a snowman! (BTW, why do we automatically measure snow in inches still?)

H is off too and feeling poorly anyway so I might persuade him that getting some beers in and spending the afternoon watching our Life on Mars boxset is a good idea...

I could have tried to go in but my tyres are really crap and slide all over the place in the dry let alone like this - it would also take me 1 hr and a half to have to leave early to get home as its going to get worse - 4 of our offices are closed anyway

I'm near the airport at Staverton and we've only got a light covering of snow. Boo - I want more!

Typical isn't it - still not feeling very well but decided new week, new start and all that and I have so much work to do so go up, managed to get to the station and on a train only for my lovely boss to call and say stay at home ? I was on a direct train to London so no chance to get off and turn around so I'm in the office...

Feeling very jealous of everyone at home - no idea how I'll get any work done today, most of our contractors and clients seem to be closed so it's an admin day for me. Wondering if Pizza Express is open downstairs for an early lunch?!

Properly snowed in here. Our front door opens outwards and we actually can't open it!

I'm in West Berkshire and although the snow isn;t as thick as everyone elses I've decided to stay home and not try and brave the M4 for an hours lecture at Uni, besides which the kids school is closed anyway. In fact all the village schools are closed around here. I stupid husband left at 6am this morning to drive to Leicester and although the roads were quite clear at the time I'd hate to think what they're going to be like at 6pmn tonight. I've told him to come home now but he won't listen - idiot.

Dudley - a few inches and still falling, roads were ok to get to work however not so sure what it's like off our industrial estate as the tracks from the cars have been covered already. I may be walking home!

H dropped me off in our little car, then went home and couldn't get his big white van off the road! oops!

I'm in Brighton managed to get into work, but nobody else has which is annoying!! All roads were blocked this morning and there was a jack knived lorry at the roundabout near us. Mr Cee works in Horsham he left at 8.00 only to come back 10 mins later to say that it was impossible to drive. I walked into work and it was really bizzare there were no cars or buses everything was really quiet and things looks really pretty! I wanna go home now!!☹️

Well, went to work but after a few hours, we all decided to go home ?. It wasn't getting any better out there and we have quite a few treacherous hills to navigate en route, so decided to cut our losses and leave. Id quite happily have worked from home but our bosses are too cheap to provide the facility, so I'll have to watch TV instead.

    I'm bored.

I live on an un-gritted hill and whilst sitting here Hitching, a rear wheel drive BMW has gone past the window going up the hill, only to slide back down it, sideways ?

So yes, I'd say I'm snowed in. Trouble is my 4 year old is at school.

I'm in Kent, all trains and buses are cancelled. I am a horrid wife and have sent H out for food as I think it's possible we might either get snowed in, or the local shops will be shut tomorrow as no one can get in. We have no patio or steps in the garden now, just a huge slope of snow and it's at least a quarter of the way up the french doors. It's still snowing really heavily as well.
