You can get them from groom to brides mum / dad too.

Umm I think my groom would rather not get married than give this to my mum due to cringeworthiness/embaressment hehe! But I can see that some aimed at being from the bride could be cute if you have that sort of sentimental relationships in your family x

I'm on the side of the cringe factor I'm afraid ☹️. Far too twee for me (and I can imagine what my mum would do if she was given it lol)

I'm doing something like this for my flower girl as a keepsake (she is my niece and will be 3 when we get married) and in the poem it says that this can be her something old on her own wedding day.

we tend to do little sentimental things like this though, i think im going to do one for my mum to to give her a bit of attention on the morning of the wedding Smiley smile

Not for me either I'm afraid! My H would never give that as a gift.

I thought that was a pair of knickers at first! Not sure what they would have conveyed.

I don't think they are lovely - The sentiment is fine but i'm not into 'Hallmark' type poems and neither is OH. My mum would also think this was a very odd thing to be given. It is nice for mums to have a keepsake from the wedding though.

I do love the idea of giving something that can then be part of someone else's wedding. I was reading about someone whose wedding ring pillow was made up of her grandmother and mothers wedding veil, dress and christening gown.

I think I am making something similar for my MIL. Although not sure yet if I want it to be a hanky. I would like my fiance to do something for my mom though, as she really isnt getting to be a big part of the wedding

    No.

My Mum would think it was a joke. Infact she'd hope it was a joke. Vomit inducing.

Not my cup of tea either. They remind me of how our whole family (granny) included try to buy the most revolting cards possible. Once my sister found one for my dad that came in a box with about 200 pages of poems. ?

My brother sees it as a challenge to buy the most revolting cards possible!

Sorry, those are as far from lovely as I can think of.

This has inspired me for a thread however, so thanks for that.

Sorry, but I don't think is lovely! Its way too cringey.... my OH would never, ever, give that as a gift, and not sure my Mum would be thrilled to receive it either.

    Hi There

I think it all depends on how your OH and your mum are like. Do they usually like this sort of stuff?

It is personal taste at the end of the day and what we like might not be what you love and vice versa.

Personally for me, I'd go with something less "in your face", maybe written with a fine pen rather than the bold embroidary.

The idea is lovely, but I think is a bit crudely executed, if you see what I mean? Smiley smile
