Anyone else totally fed up with the weather?

crafty em, 18 July, 2011 at 10:07 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 18

Miserable here again in Suffolk, kids break up on friday, hope the weather gets better or they're all going to be bored and stuck in the house ?

but on the plus side I won something at the school raffle on friday, and its in an envelope!!! top prize was £100, but Max's teacher didn't know what it was, can't wait to pick it up after school tonight ?

This weather is pants. I've got 50 acres of grass that needs turning into hay to feed my horses over the winter & it won't happen unless we get some sunshine!

Whilst it was pretty unpleasant to get rained on during RfL, I need to be desk based for the next few days so I prefer the rain to the sunshine. Nothing worse than it being a beautiful day and being stuck behind a desk.

It's not tooooooo bad here actually. A little bit of sunshine here and there, but it's quite chilly for late July. We actually had the heating on yesterday morning. Still, with all this rain and intermittent sunshine, my garden is looking lush!

At the risk of sounding like a miserable old baggage I like it rainy and cool Smiley smile Purely for the reason that I work in the the City and there is nothing worse than hot weather combined with pollution and having to fight your way in on public transport in 35 degree heat.

    ?

Do we possibly have better weather in the Scottish Borders?? Past few days -

Friday: Beautiful sunshine all day (I was working all day til 9pm so no enjoyment of it but still)

Saturday: Drizzle on my way to work (just before 7am) Pouring rain once at work (from 7.05am) Beautiful sunshine from (10am) even though the forecast was rain all day, heavy rain once H and I were home and having dinner following trip to cinema for HP7:II

Sunday: heavy rain overnight and until about 11am then beautiful sunshine reaching it's most glorious, wonderful goldeny world-is-good peak just when I left for work lol

Today: mid way between sun and rain, you know that fine drizzly stuff while the sun is still out but it's not so warm today. Still have windows open but starting to feel chilly!

BTW this is pretty much the best summer weather we get so not in the least bit fed up, just slightly wish that the rain would turn into a great big thunder storm - I love them and the smell is the best!

It was so dark when I was going into work this morning that it felt like November. I don't mind the temperature so much (as I know they're saving the lovely weather for when I head to Cornwall in Septmber ?) but give me a little light!

September and October are nearly always nicer than July and August.

That was actually our cunning plan when booking our wedding. We thought if we booked it for when the kids had just gone back to school then there was more chance of decent weather!

Whatever happened to the summers we had about 4 or 5 years ago where it would be scorching for about 6 weeks or the summer? I remember riding out where a bikini top to work on my tan. Far too cold to think about doing that now!
