Anyone else worried about 'Silent Pauses'

ToniBen10, 17 January, 2012 at 14:31 Posted on Planning 0 6

Hi everyone

So, as we do, i havent stopped thinking about every minute of the wedding, my family and my H2Bs family have never met, is anyone else worried about silent pauses? Either peopl not talking, or any awkwardness?

We're getting married at 2pm, and getting to the venue reception for 3.30pm from 3.30-4.30 all our guests (50) will be waiting in the bar area, whilst we have a few moments to ourselfs, check the room is all ready etc, i dont want everyone sitting in the bar in silence, omg how awkward would that be! Obviously there will be music playing. The rest of our guests wont be coming until 7pm for the evening reception.

Any opinions, or ideas what could be done...much appreciated xx

Not at all. I can't even begin to imagine a room of 50 people sitting in silence.

    This.

I'm sure each of your guests will know atleast SOMEONE there and celebrations like weddings always get people talking anyway. 'Wasn't that a lovely service?' 'Didn't she look gorgeous?'

I really don't think you have anything to worry about ?

I really don't think it a possibility that people will be sitting in silence. However, you have a best man/BMs/ushers to rely on to do the rounds, make some introductions and keep things flowing. Although alcohol will also do that job...

I wonder if on the day, you'll want to be away from your guests for a whole hour. Nothing could have dragged me away for longer than five mins....

You're definitely overthinking things! I really really doubt there'll be any silences!

We had 60 people at our wedding and while we were off having photos taken (20 minutes max, trust me you won't want to miss a whole hour) I have been reliably informed that the atmosphere was great. They all have the fact that they are at the same wedding in common so please be reassured that no-one will be standing there in silence.
