Anyone from Milton Keynes? Hotel advice needed please....

catwoman, 5 May, 2009 at 21:39 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 5

My dear H has booked gig tickets to see some hideous band in MK (we live in Surrey). They're playing at a place called "The Pitz" (doesn't that just say it all...) which is in a leisure centre....Woughton Leisure Centre. That's it. Anyway, we need to book a hotel overnight....Ideally something that will do dinner and breakfast, so bit more than a Travelodge, but budget is small. Any tips?

Thanks ever so much!

The Pitz is not too far from the centre so I would probably stay at the new Jury's Inn in Central MK. I haven't stayed there but it looks ok and you can get very cheap deals if you book ahead. It's also close to a few new restaurants (albeit mainly chains) but it would be ideal for your purpose. There's also a new Ramada next door or Novotel just up the road.

Here's a link to the area to see what's around.

WLLS, the hub would be the best bet, it isnt too far from Woughton. There is so much around there, and just down the road from the shopping centre, so not too bad!

I've stayed at that Jury's Inn and found it very comfortable. Not eaten there but the menus at the InnFusion restaurants usually look quite nice.

I would third the Hub suggestion but also suggest the Ramada Encore, which is also in the Hub, next door to Jurys but I believe is a bit cheaper.

Also, there are loads of restaurants in the Hub and at the moment most of them have bogof meal deals on if you print a voucher of their website.

I used to go to the Pitz alot when I was younger and saw Blur at them. It is quite an intimate venue from recollection.

And when are you coming here? I work at the Hub so if you want a quick tour of the area I might be around.
