Anyone from/know Newcastle/Northumberland area? Hotel help needed

I need to find a cheap but not grotty hotel near Choppington for a couple of nights next week. Family friendly because there are two small kids. Can anyone direct me? I'm looking on Lastminute and other sites but without knowing the area, it's difficult to choose! Thanks.

I don't know Choppington at all although I live quite close. It depends on the budget really, maybe the Marriott at Gosforth Park (although there is a cheaper Inn Keepers Lodge opposite but have no idea what that's like). The Village is further away but a reasonable enough budget hotel.
