Anyone had a photobooth?

Joanna C, 12 April, 2011 at 10:35 Posted on Planning 0 11

HI everyone, my photographer is offering a photobooth at a reduced rate as its still a new thing here in Jersey! I've never been to a wedding with one. Has anyone had one and how did it go? It does look fun but worried that either it will hardly be used or people will be queing to use it and not on the dance floor!

Also, anyone having one and what sort of cost? We've been offered one at £400.

Thanks

Jo

There was one at a wedding I went to in August and it went down a treat!

It was a real buzz and there was always a queue of people waiting to get in.

We've teamed our photobooth with a guest book - guests have their picture taken and then write us a message which are scanned in, and made into a proper hardback glossy book, the guest also gets a copy - it's cost us £400.

I went to a wedding last summer and there was a photobooth there. Before the wedding, the bride told me it was costing £1000 and I was like ? and didn't think it could possibly be worth that kind of money.

    But IMO it was!

It was set up to look like a real photobooth (but much posher!) and it was staffed all the time to ensure smooth running. Everyone that used it got a copy of the pics and a copy went into a guest book for people to write messages. I must have used it about 6 times with lots of different combinations of friends! (could fit up to 5 people in at a time). There were people queuing for it at times but I wouldn't say it meant the dancefloor was empty.

We just had a photo frame and box of accessories, plus a speech bubble shaped blackboard for them to write messages on... it went down a storm and only cost us for the frame and silly props.

    Hi

I've not seen one at a wedding but I organised a charity ball last year and we hired one. It was brilliant, was about £1000 but worth it, everyone seemed to love it!

Hi, I just stumbled across your post whilst doing some Googling.

I actually run a photo booth company called MyPhotoBooth, we offer a luxury booth that's hard standing and fully automated with a 15" touchscreen. For weddings you get a copy of all of the photos as well as a photo guest book that's ready by the end of the night. We primarily server Wales and the West Midlands but go over to Essex, London, Manchester, Bristol etc alot - even the Isle of Man in a couple of months!

Not sure what the "advertising policy" is here so I won't put in any links, but you can find us on Facebook by typing "MyPhotoBooth - Photo booth hire...."

Prices start from £595, include the guest book, props box and 3 hours on unlimited use where ALL the photos are free Smiley laugh

Fell free to give me an email/message/pm etc if you have any questions Smiley laugh
