What do you both have in common or enjoy? in some respects, you might be better of getting married abroad with very close family, and then throwing a fusion party when you get home

Your issue is that the traditional Hindu wedidng is a massive event, and has barley any resemblance to a traditional christian one

The next issue is that the "traditional non-church" wedding is pretty much structurally based on a Christian wedding

I am half-Indian (my dad is Hindu) and neither my H2B nor I follow any religion so in that respect we are having a pretty standard, godless civil ceremony.

But we are putting touches of my dad's culture into our day in various ways, the main one being that we are having our sit-down meal in the evening and will be having Indian food. We're using saris as some decoration. On the 'other' side, I will be wearing a big white dress and straight after the ceremony (at a register office) we will be having a very 'English' afternoon tea.

Just to let you know... if you have a civil ceremony (either in a register office or in a licensed venue that is not a religious building) you will NOT be allowed to have any mention of religion in your ceremony. If you really want a ceremony incorporating both Hindu and Christian elements, I would suggest having a very small register office ceremony just to make sure the 'legals' are done, and then having your own non-legal ceremony personalised and done just the way you want it.
