Anyone having a 12pm wedding?

loves-young-dream, 10 December, 2013 at 21:16 Posted on Planning 0 11

The only date the venue has available that we want the registrar only has 12pm! Very annoying as I think it's gonna be too much of a long day? Otherwise will have to wait till 2015 as our venue is soo busy!

What was your timings of things if you went for 12pm?

Thanks

I had a midday wedding it was great. .I looked at it basically as a full day for everyone. The day goes so quickly anyway so I saw it as a chance for a longer time to enjoy it all. Nobody complained and wouldn't change any of it.

    Mine was 12.00 I and wouldn't change a thing!

We invited the evening guests from 6pm. I'd do that again, too.

If it helps, we had (approx - can't remember exactly):

    12.00 - 12.30 - ceremony

    12.30 - 14.30 - Drinks reception and photos

    14.30 - 15.00 - Seated for dinner and 2 speeches

    15.00 - 17.00 - wedding breakfast

    17.00 - 17.30 - Best men speeches

    17.30 - 18.00 - Couple photos and guests moved outside/through to evening reception room/bar

    18.00 - 19.00 - Drinks etc

19.00 - First dance (approx) then band and DJ until 23.30pm

    21.00 - Buffet (approx)

    24.00 - Back to hotel

No one was bored, promise. Smiley smile

This is true. My hotel was 10 minutes from the venue and we had access to their one suite from 9am - my bridesmaids and I got ready there.

(We could have stayed there on the night of the wedding but there was only one room and we didn't want to miss out on all the fun at the hotel!).

I am having a 12.30 wedding. The Church is about half hour drive to the venue.

I am looking forward to having a whole day celebrating, I have been told it was fly by, so the longer it is the better! Only down side... hair and make up starts really early!!

We're having 1pm so only an hour later, you could just spend longer on the post-ceremony drinks and photos? My best friend had an 11:30am ceremony, which although felt ridiculously early, the day didn't drag at all!

Thanks everyone I've now booked it!

    Exciting!

We are also heading to the beach just us two and TOGs for photos which should take quite a bit of time!

I would not have it if I had to have it after 1pm

frankly im going to make the most of the WHOLE day

as people said it will go sooo fast you'll blink and think where did the day go and its always better to have too much time than not enough

also have you ever got ready for a night out and waited round?

its infuriating, I would much rather go out earlier than wait all day for something as it kills the buzz
