Anyone honeymooned in Koh Samui in June?

cat26, 13 November, 2008 at 15:11 Posted on Planning 0 3

We were looking to go to Thailand for our honeymoon in June 09, and Koh Samui seems to escape the monsoon weather that the North of Thailand suffers in June, has anyone been to Koh Samui in June and can tell me what the weather was like - or should I abandon the idea all together??? Thanks

Hi, we have been to Koh Samui in September, which was monsoon season, and it was'ent too bad, it rains solidly for about 10 mins then it clears up straight away.

Why don't you look on trip adivisor, on the Thailand forum and see what people say, I swear by them forums!

Hi we are going to Koh Samui in June too. I've doen quite a bit of reading up on it and weather should be fine from what I read. May be the odd shower later in the day but generally dry and hot until late June. I second the recommendation to look at the trip advisor koh samui forum - loads of useful info on there. Still can't decide which area to stay at the moment, mixed reviews about the different beaches/areas. Happy planning and if you come across any useful info let me know.

Koh Samui should be fine in June, it is really the other side - Phuket that really gets the rain in the summer months. If it should rain, it will be short and sharp, and often clears the humidity. Have you any thoughts on hotels, or which resort you want to be?

Are you just going to Koh Samui, or are you going to Bangkok for a few days also? I love Thailand, and have visited many times, including many of the islands as well as Bangkok, so if you need some more info, then feel free to contact me. I am actually going back to Thailand in February for 3 weeks and cant wait.

I have been to Koh Samui in July and the weather was gorgeous. Occasionally, there was the odd downpour, but it only lasted 5-10 mins and then the sun came back out.

I can highly recommend staying here: www.rockyresort.com it was absolutely fab and in a lovely quiet area, yet still minutes from the town.

www.sawadee.com is a great website for recommendations too.
