Anyone know Winchester, Hampshire? (shopping)

Thinking of taking the day off to go christmas shopping in Winchester - is it any good? Not too bothered about having the high street shops, but just want an array of little shops to get gifts in etc.......

    We are going at the end of the month!

    A christmas market starts around 27th of this month. From what I remember (not been for years) it has some nice shops.

    I went to Winchester for the Christmas market and shopping last year.

    The market was a bit of a disapointment to be honest but the shopping was ok. It was VERY cold and busy, we parked in park and ride just off the M3 which was excellent as there were hundreds of parking spaces and the bus into town was really frequent.

    We normally go on Christmas Eve where you get lots of bands and choirs in the street and then you can walk upto the Cathedral too.

    Well worth it.

    It's not that exciting for shopping, although the street that runs up to the Cathedral has a few good gift shops like www.woodruffs.co.uk

    Christmas markets are nice there are some nice little shops, I like pink alien prefer Salisbury

    I live there!! Usual high st shops but some really nice little boutiques etc as well. Xmas mkt opens in a few weeks and is good for handmade gifts etc. I like it!
