anyone live / know the Hadley Green/Highstone/Barnet area of North London

Hi - My boyfriend and I are looking at areas to live in close to London, and have found a nice house in Hadley Green area, near Barnet. Does anyone know the area and what it's like to live in. Also, what Barnet is like as town? Preferably we wanted to be closer to St Albans but I think it's only 15 mins away by car. If anyone can give any insider knowledge, that would be great. Ta!

    It's not a cheap area. Hadley Green is very nice and my godfather lived in Camlet Way. I went to school in Barnet and was born there, although lived in Southgate.

    Not been back recently although it is an Ok place.

    Oh, and St Albans is indeed only around 15 minutes away if you avoid the M25.....

    My aunt lives in Hadley Green- we are off there today for dinner! Anyway, it is a nice area she is happy there and so are her children. In my opinion Barnet High St has lost a lot of its good shops over the years. and what is coming in is the 'not so nice' shops. It had a Marks and Spencers food ha;; but that didn't last too long. It still has waitrose though.
