Anyone made their own tiara and/or jewellery?

Pink Han-bag, 17 July, 2012 at 12:38 Posted on Planning 0 3

I keep looking at the tiara's I like (headband style) and thinking I could make that. I've made jewellery before. Is it really that difficult?

Depends what you want and how much time you have.

It's pretty easy to make a simple headband like this.

But if you want something more complicated then it will take a bit of time and patience to get the design right. You want to make sure it's comfortable and secure too.

My local bead shop runs tiara making classes so maybe you could look out for something like that if you want to give it a bash?

I'm making all my BM's jewellery, gift for MIL and probably my flowergirl's headband.

I made mine, I bought a pearl and crystal headband and a crystal barrette and used jewellery wire to wire them together:

Total cost £17.50 and i've had nothing but compliments on it.

Time consuming is ok, I'm a stay at home Mum and son is going to preschool in September so will have some day times as well as evenings.

    irrelephant, love yours!
