My best friend and I had this discussion last night. I say dating sites largely do not bring any sort of long-lasting relationship. She says they do and cited a couple of people she knows whom went on to get married. Okay, a *couple* of people to me is quite a low average when you think of how many actually join.
Have you met your other half online? Do you know anyone who has?
When I think about it, I suppose that metting online is possibly no different than meeting anywhere else, as if you meet anyone *down-the-pub* you have no guarantees it will work out. Right?
But I think that online, people are more likely to say whatever makes them look good and to hide any uncomfortable truths. Am I being unresonably prejudiced? If I am, I am willing to hold my hands up!
As a photographer I often ask my clients how they've met, and have not yet come accross anyone whom have met on a dating site, but I know of colleagues who have.
If you care to share your experiences or viewpoint, I'd be interested to hear. Not as a photographer, but as an individual ?
