Will there be any one point when you'd expect all of your guests to be seated at the same time?

If so - then, I think a seating plan is easier to collate all of that.

I would say have one. Weddings i shoot that do not have table plans tend not to mix as well, you tend to find 20 people squeezing around 1 table and only 2 around another. Your guests do not mix as well as they will stay in family groups.

All around i would say have one even if its nothing fancy. if you wanted to make it easy just put names in a hat and randomly draw them out.

Im having an informal reception also, and we are having a table plan, but are not having place cards or anything so people will be told which table they are on, but can sit wherever at it, mainly just to make it easier when people are eating etc, to keep it organised

I do these escort card boards for informal table plans so guests can take their own tags off and sit themselves. x

We're doing the same, although we're having a table plan, wouldnt call it seating plan, as people can sit where they want on the tables but we want a bit of organisation, and it ensures everyone has a seat and is sat with people they know xx
