I got wed in Zanzibar, at Matemwe Bungalows - all organised thru' ToEscapeTo.co.uk ...

Absolutely amazing experience, and the pkg you get for your wedding is really something ... only suitable if you're happy for the entire local village to turn up and you're happy to dance and dance and dance!!

    Hi Shelley,

Me and my fiance live in Mallorca and we can definitely recommend it as a place to get married abroad. Whether you want a quiet serene wedding, or something lively then there are loads of great spots. And the weather's great!

Hi, I haven't been on hitched for a long time, but now I'm looking at weddings I'm back!

Bec, I've been looking at Santorini and really liked the look of it. Have you got everything planned or are you just in the initial stages? Let's know - I'd be really interested in how its going.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Shell,

I would only recommend having you wedding in Croatia. Croatia has a to offer and doesn't cost too much to fly out and stay for a weekend for a week (especially as you can get group booking discounts). Croatia has some of Europes most incredible coastline and thousands of islands and islets to choose from. If you are keeping your mind open to suggest its no harm to take a look at our website for more ideas http://www.iasnikatravel.com/croatian-weddings

Check out everything Croatia has to offer on our website http://www.iasnikatravel.com/croatian-weddings or give our wedding organiser Julia a ring on ****. Go through your ideas with Julia and she can recommend the best venues and styles for your wedding.

    Good luck with your searching!

I know this was posted some time ago, but for those just coming on and looking for somewhere, please think about who is a bride/past bride on here and who is simply advertising their own business (look at the number of posts for some of these)

    Hello,

I am getting married abroad next June on the greek island of Zakynthos (Zante) - we think it is a beautiful and friendly place.

I think it really depends on what type of wedding you want, how many guests you want to come etc as to where you choose to get married.

We chose Zante as it is not that far away and all of our family and friends were willing to come and make it their holiday that year as they could get a reasonably priced holiday there.

If you have any questions or want more info or advice please ask.

I would suggest resorts in Florida. Florida is well known for being the home to a host of professional wedding planners, photographers and venue operators. They can help you prepare a wedding ceremony and reception matching to your desires and budget. ?

My fiance and I are getting married next May and hope to leave for our honeymoon within a few days of the wedding. We have narrowed it down to a few honeymoon ideas, and know a few things we'd like to do while we're there. We need to keep our honeymoon under $5000 for 10 to 11 days, leaving out of NJ. We are seriously considering spending five days in one place, then traveling somewhere else nearby for the next five days. (Example: Tortola and St. Thomas)

    Things we'd like to do:
Have a room/villa, right on the beach.
Some adventure: parasailing, zip-lining, horseback riding, etc.
A place that is safe, with few/no "sketchy" areas that might make us feel less secure when out at night.
    Affordable luxury
    Romantic
    Spa/couples massages

    Places we're considering:
    St. Lucia
    St. Barts
    St. Martin
    St. Thomas
    Tortola
    Antigua
    Hilo, Hawaii
    Kauai, Hawaii

With all these things in mind, what are your best recommendations for location, areas of islands, resort/hotel/villa ideas, and activities.

Also, of these eight places, what two or three would you recommend most highly?

    Thanks so much!

We've been looking at Portugal and believe me, don't bother. Spain is just as bad apparently, unless you have family there.

The easiest way is to go to some travel agents and get their wedding brochures and see if there's anything you like in there.

Good luck, let us know how you get on.

    Hi Shelley77,

I am getting married in Italy in 2011 not sure which month yet, will most likely be in Tuscany. Lake Como, Tuscany and the Amalfi Coast are very popular Wedding destinations to consider. I am actually an Italian Wedding planner based in Bournemouth, I speak fluent Italian(I am half Italian) and I assist couples who want to marry in Italy, particulary with the legal documentation and telephone and email correspondence. I hope this helps! :-)
