Anyone suggest a long lasting foundation that works?

SAM83, 21 February, 2009 at 10:58 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 11

I am so fed up with it promising to last 16 hours only for it to wear off after 4 or 5. I use a base and finish with powder and have tried doing only one, only the other and not doing either but it doesnt seem to work!

Another fan of EL double wear here, they also do a double wear solid powder which is quite good but sometimes needs touching up in the afternoon.

I use Benefit's You Rebel Lite tinted moisteriser with LAura Mercier mineral powder over the top and that stays put from 5.30am till I take it off about 10.30 at night.

I'm another bare escentuals convert and I think it's great. In the past I've also had succes with the YSL foundation version of touche eclat (can't remember what it's called sorry).

My vote goes to laura mercier (moisturising one) it always alarms me that it's still in place at bedtime!

It's the prepping of the skin that is key tbh, so like La P said prep and prime first is good, as is Laura Merciers foundation primer. Or I think there is a No 7 one the name escapes me at the mo that is a good bottom end price range (I love a bargain me). I use Dr Feelgood by Benefit or the Laura Mercier one.

Foundations, I mostly use Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect as a bottom end one but can second the other ones the ladies have mentioned especially the YouRebel tinted moisturiser for a lighter item. I also use Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich and have used Chanel Vitalumiere.

HTH, also I sometimes for a spesh occasion use the Mac Fix + this sets the look well.
