Tried it - wouldn't recommend it! Lost very little weight had really bad health during and unless your happy to have only the milkshakes and nothing else it works out quite pricey in the long run:because the snacks really add up

If your willing to spend money on losing weight i'd recommend tesco: tuns of variety and never felt hungry! lost about 10lb in six weeks with that one!

To be honest slimming world works for me...no counting calories or weighing things out. however it also helps that nearly all the girls in the office are doing it so between us we can figure out what to eat! good luck xxx

I've tried it. It does work as a short term fix - you will lose quite large amounts of weight very quickly. HOWEVER, as soon as you start to eat even vaguely normally (like still being careful with calories) you will gain it all back faster than you lost it. I lost 2st on it last summer but put 1st of that back on. Then when I tried it again just a few weeks ago, I lost 5lbs in one week and put that back on within TWO days. So I wouldn't recommend it for proper, long term weight loss. But if you're panicking like three weeks before a dress fitting it will work but you will have to stick to it until the wedding is over! I have now re-lost those 5lbs and more (7lbs in nine days) by basically cutting out processed food and nasties like preservatives. For inspiration, check out the Clean &Lean diet by James Duigan. X

I'm using myfitnesspal.com also. When I am logging in every day I am losing weight-when I dont log on I dont! But I guess thats how they all work. 3d I will request you as a friend. I want to lose 5 lbs before attending weddings in June and then I have another stone to lose for my own wedding next summer. And it is going to come off me-it has to!

I have done it on and off iam staing it agane today as iam at a weight i just cant get under. As long as you stick to it 100% with the 3 100cal snacks and the 600 cal tea you WILL NOT gaine it back just because you stop drinking the shakes as it is a 1350 cal diet (or there abouts) it is just like cutting cals but doing it with shacks and not food.

Have tried it, wouldnt recommend it, didnt lose that much weight, felt crap and dizzy the whole time, I have lost more weight more quickly by just eating a healthy diet. I lost 2.5 stone in 3 months on sureslim, prigramme is pricey but you just eat normal food so not expensive to do and really does work

I lost 7lb in a week on Slimming World and ate a lot of food. I hated Slimfast, the mere thought of one of those shakes knocks me sick now.

I may be on my own here, but i don't believe in diets. It should be a lifestyle change.

The best thing that i suggest is cutting out all the "bad for you" things that you normally eat between now and your holiday, and eat 3 meals a day with fruit as a snack, and only drink water or Fresh fruit juice (not from concentrate). I do that for lent every year as a detox and i always lose a bit of weight doing it. Also, you should have a routine exercise regime too. I walk a mile every day at about the same time which i think helps. and i have a habit of dancing everywhere i go around the house. i don't walk anywhere, i literally shuffle spin and slide my way through my house.

Lent has finished now, and i'm only eating/drinking "unhealthy" things in small doses and i'm maintaining my weight!

Im a serial dieter (apart from at the minute as im preggers!) and i can honestly say slim fast is the one iv lost the most on and quickest - and easy. Long term it isnt a solution, but it does make you count calories and be aware of what u eat.

Basically u eat 3 snacks @ 100 calories, so can be french fries, blue ribbon, fruit, then 2 shakes, which i had for breaky and dinner, and 1 meal for 600 calories which is quite a lot of food. I ate every 2 hours so i was never hungry.

It equates to 1400 calories a day, so after youv lost the weight, if u increase it to around 1800 i think the weight stays off. I lost 10 pound ina month but i ate whatever i wanted at the weekend.

The only problems i had were headaches for first couple days, and slight constipation Smiley atonished but worth it in my eyes!

I do agree with this, any quick fix method will just result in you putting the weight back on when yu stopped, thats why I liked the plan I used as it was a lifestyle change that started quite drastically but they showed you how to work into your life permanently so you can maintain the weightloss.

I agree with the lifestyle thing. I've incorporated exercise into my everyday routine and have lost and kept off around 21lb. I have not really changed what I eat or drink but this is the longest I have ever gone without putting weight back on (I've done Slimming World, Weight Watchers, Rosemary Connelly, Closer Diets, Atkins, BHF Diet to name but a few). I could do with losing another stone but I feel happy enough at the moment.

Thanks for the advise guys! im looking at it as a kind of quick start that will make me stick to a low cal diet when i start to see results - if i tried to stick to 1300 normally I would struggle so this may get me in to eating little and often which everyone says is the best for you! Tried slimming world and think i took advantage of the 'eat as much as you like' and had so much pasta and rice i didnt lose much at all.

Best diet I ever did was Atkins about four years ago, lost 3 stone and kept it off all that time except from about 6 months ago (just after I got engaged, lol) and started eating like a maniac! But the thought of the eggs, nuts and cheese again makes me shudder! So wish me luck! xx

My problem with starting a new diet is that I don't see results quick enough! (This could be because I tell myself "You're o a diet, NO HARIBOS" which immediately makes me think "PASS ME SOME HARIBOS! I NEEEED THEM!")

I've done Slim Fast as a kick start so I notice the difference almost straight away, then carry on counting calories from then on. The longest I stuck to it was a couple of weeks, which is all I needed. I also made sure I alternated between the shakes and the chocolate meal replacement bars, so it felt like I was having some 'real' food.

I can't say I felt ill or anything on it, but some of the girls at work say I get irritable on it. I think they're just being oversensitive! ?

In fact, I go on holiday in 4 weeks. Quick, where's the milkshakes?!

Woop woop! A week twin! It feels like sooooooooooooo long away!

How's your planning coming along? Not done much ourselves yet. Ooops! ? But my excuse is that as we're getting married in Zante, and we're off on holiday there in 4 weeks, we'll sort stuff out over there first!

I KNOW! Any excuse to top up the tan for me!

We've booked with the planner abroad, so need to confirm the venue with her when we go over there, we've booked our venue for the reception/party when we come back and that's pretty much it. Although we did make our first official 'wedding purchase' at the weekend - 6 jars for our sweetie table, form Asda for the grand total of abouy £8!

    xxx
