Anyone used a Photo Booth app/created their own Photo Booth?

Joebella44, 31 March, 2014 at 13:05 Posted on Planning 0 5

Hi All,

I love the idea of having a photo booth at our wedding and saw a vintage one at the National Wedding show recently that was ace! However, it's £595, which is probably an expense we really don't need to spend and I'd rather put the money towards our honeymoon. We've been debating creating our own and using something like the wedding Photo Booth app for the iPad where you set up your iPad, can pick the theme etc. I was wondering whether anyone else had used this or done something similar and created their own Photo Booth and just wondered how well it worked? also, how did you set up the 'booth' aspect of it? Any tips would be great as i think this would be a good option for us to be able to have one but save the money!

Thanks

Jo

I had looked at a photo booth too but the prices are crazy. I looked on Pinterest and found some great ideas for a DIY one instead. Me and my MOH will be making all the parts a few days before the wedding. As far as the 'booth' aspect of it goes, I think we'll just use one of the curtains in our venue as the back drop!

    Good luck! xx

We're not doing it but have seen a lot of people use a lot of props like big sunglasses, fake moustaches, blow up guitars etc and have the big frames you can hold in front of you and just use a normal camera for the pics. And just use a curtain for the background if need one at all.

This^^^^^^^ The last 3 weddings the couples just got some props mostly from poundland and left a small camera on the table where the guests could just get another guest to take the photos.

I see a lot of couples put together their own booth these days, and it always works really well. Just get some sort of backdrop (loads of lovely ideas out there on Pinterest, such as making your own backdrop out of ribbon, tissue paper etc) or buy an actual roll of paper, you can always dress it up with some bunting, or lace to make it look nice and that doesn't cost much at all. Props are really easy, lots out there on eBay, Etsy and joke shops online. Just get a few hats, sunglasses, moustaches and lips on sticks etc and you're good to go. The only thing is though, is that you'd most likely have to have someone in charge of taking the photographs, or perhaps having a tripod set up and putting it on self timer... Good luck ?

We had an empty picture frame and a dressing up box - worked a treat!
