Anyone used Green Metropolis to sell books?

Melilot, 28 July, 2009 at 09:13 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

I've just bought a book via this site (via Amazon Marketplace), and just realised that I can sell books on there too, for a flat rate of £3. I'd been selling on Amazon, but lots of the books I'd got to sell were only selling at 1p - though I guess as a buyer Amazon would be better than Green Metropolis (£3.75 to buy!)

Any experiences?

I've bought and sold on GM - after Rache (I think) recommended it.

I've only had good experiences with GM, and when I've had a query I got a reply immediately.

The only thing I would say is that I've sold some books within a few hours of listing and others have remained unsold after 6 months so if you're after making money fast you might want to keep that in mind.

To add, I like the community aspect of GM so I would always look for a second-hand book there first. I see it more as book swapping and a way of reading while not adding to my book shelves so I tend to buy only with money I've made from selling, IYSWIM.

I've just got shelves of books I need to get rid of, but would be just as happy to 'swap' them as much as sell them! Will give it a whirl then, thanks Zebra!

I used to sell books on green metropolis but found that I had many books lingering. I now swap books on Readitswapit - I much prefer it, probably because no money changes hands - you just agree a swap and post your books. I can't recommend it highly enough.
