On the theme the other day of making money has anyone used music magpie? What sort of money did you make? Is it worth it? Do they take casettes??

I recently used them to shift my huge music collection which sadly I just don't have space for any more.

Not sure if they accept cassettes and they only take albums not singles, usually get less then a £1 for each album so not a way to make mega bucks but it paid for my external hard drive which I ripped all the cd's onto before sending them in so i was happy with that.

I then sold all my CD singles on ebay as a job lot.

Last time I looked, I'm sure CEX offered more.

Last time I checked they were offering about 7p per album of mine, so I didn't bother. For that money i'd rather have them all tucked away in the loft. This is going back a good year or so though, perhaps they've become more generous since.

I also read the T&C and they were quite specific about the condition of the cases & artwork/sleeve (some of mine were a bit scratched up/battered although discs were perfect) I didn't want to risk sending them off only for some of them to potentially be refused, seemed more trouble than it was worth.

We sold all of our CD's some DVD's and some wii games, we got over £100.00. The cheque took about a week to come through to us.

I have been looking at a website called Zapper and you put the bar code in and they give you the price straight away, I think I tried to use Music Magpie a ahile ago and it was a bit more long winded to get a quote for your items? But I have a terrible memory so it might not have been!

But it might be worth having a quick look at Zapper too to see if you get any more there, it was so quick to use. (Not that I have actually sold any yet, just got some idea of prices for some books and DS games).
