They are lovely but they are a pain when you are a guest and trying to hold a conversation with the people opposite!

The general "rule" is to be lower than eye level or above when choosing centrepieces, so either tall or short so that they are not in the way.

What sort of measurement is lower or above eye height? Im being abit dense here.

They are lovely but I did wonder whether it was too busy for the middle of the tables, i need to upload a picture of the room the wedding breakfast will be in to help visualise

Would you drape material or garland style flowers stretching across the bars just below the ceiling? Or just leave it simple with fairy lights?

Any other suggestions welcome please ?

I'm a fellow April-er, but I'm knowhere near as organised as you guys yet! We're putting money down to secure our venue tomorrow. Hoping to get 23rd April. You're room looks a little bit like ours (but yours is nicer!) and we're looking at decorating it like one of these...

Love the pics chrissy and woo finally got a date twin! Il have to start a new thread one time soon to see how your doing.....

where are you getting married? whats left on your to do list?

We've only been planning since september, we got engaged in may this year but i was right at the end of my uni degree so it got sidestepped for abit!!

looking forward to some flashs, love seeing everyones plans

Insomniac - your venue is AMAZING!! i love the tall ceilings, do you have a colour scheme??

No no chrissy i really am not! as I said in a previous post we have only just properly started in september (i lost my dad in july so the whole of the summer for wedding planning went out the window!)

Ive only sorted: the church, the reception venue (just this week confirmed!), my dress, bridesmaid dresses, and got the photographer decided and contacted just need to meet and decide what we want from them! florist is booked but flowers are not decided just mood boards at the mo, same with the transport, so major bits left are ALL decorations to pick and buy and h2b and ushers suits to choose n order.

So ive still got a fair bit to do! the venue has so many decisions to make.....phew! I feel tired and slightly unorganised now lol

What centrepieces are you going for? and of course the dress?

Helsbels - alas those pictures I poseted are not our venue. Mine is similar but much much less grand. Hoping that with lots of decoration though I can still make it look WOW. My colours are pale blue and pastel purple and theres going to be lots of polka dots.

Hoping to have centre pieces a bit like these

But either with a plain or polka dotted jug Smiley laugh But after what Sherrie said about eye height, I'm worried that they'll be too tall...

    Me me me!!!

    Im the 29th!

Most things sorted, just flowers now. My Mum has ordered the bits for my invites and we just have to get on and make them.

I resigned from my job today though, so weddings are off the agenda today at least!! (I do have a new job though, better paid etc).

Anyone know wheer I can get fishbowls of a good size without paying a STUPID amount of money?

Also, Its my birthday, so this evening is Harry Potter based rather than wedding based!!!

Glad everyone else is at varying stages of panic too!! Not just me!! 5 months seems far away sometimes, then REALLY close at other times!!

I just signed up so I thought I'd join in on this thread seeing as I'm also getting married on 2nd April!

Current jobs are making invitations (so wish I'd decided to buy them ready made!) and finding a florist - I've seen two and they were both very nice, just waiting for a quote from the second one although I worry she will be more expensive but she had some great ideas.

Our colour scheme is ivory and sage green, and our theme is Lego, so for centrepieces I have some green and ivory artifical topiary trees from confetti.co.uk which will be surrounded by 3 bowls of lego. The idea is that people will make things with the Lego provided but I might have to offer a prize to best model to encourage it!

Hello and welcome to hitched!! another date twin yay!!

Im having my invites made and they want the wording in the next two weeks to print and be with me before christmas argh ?

Our colour scheme is very simular to yours, ours is ivory and olive green (with hints of oyster and taupe colours) Heres my mood board for some of the ideas ive got or brought already

Love your theme with the lego, our best man is a massive lego fan and we are thinking of getting him a lego themed thank you present. Have you got any photos to flash us yet?

    Hi there

Im april too but 19th for me! Love your mood board, Im going for those colours too with a vintagey vibe! No idea whether Im behind or not but still seem to have loads to do! Really like the table centres you posted earlier I was thinking about having one but not on the table and hanging some old piccies on it and putting some tags next to it so people can write greetings on and hang them, instead of a guest book! x

Hmmm, not on me as I'm at work at the moment but I can post some later this evening. I will be able to show you Lego save the dates, Invitations with Lego on, Lego cake toppers, intended favours (lego style sweeties). I've also made some Lego cufflinks for the men. I don't have a mood board, never really thought to do one. Your colour is very similar to ours! The actual colour is Alfred Angelo clover green. This is my dress, in this colour (but that's not me wearing it!)

Thats exactly what my tree is for!! Going to hang tags on (havnt decided whether to bring in the pattern from the invites or use something else) and add it to a guest book later on.

Im just not sure where to get them from.....got to ask for the florist first to see if they can get one for me first!

What vintage items have you got so far?

My dress is full lace and im going for a vintage side head band just havn't got it yet..... oh and im having like a memory photo table with all my familys wedding photos on in beautiful vintage inspired frames of my mum&dad, both sets of grandparents and some of h2b's family too.

What else have you all got left to do?
