Got Church, reception venue, TOG, flowers, cake, dress, hair and make up, bridesmaids dresses, cars, invitations ... I'm sure there is something else! Ooh yes room dressing and maybe DJ but we had to move our date and venue so possibly not!

Not feeling very organised or enthusiastic atm but getting little bits done all the time might help me! Looking forward to seeing what you've got done ?

Hi, another April 2014 bride here

So far I have sorted the venue, ceremony, evening disco, bridesmaid dresses, cake, photographer, flowers, children's activity packs, the rings and our lovely honeymoon cruise to the Norwegian Fjords very excited!

The next few things I am going to crack on with are: sorting a personalised guest book, buy scoops/bowls etc for my DIY sweet cart and invittations/place cards. My list is slowly getting ticked off but then I add on more things ha!

So far we have our venue, registrar, photographer, venue dresser, dj and booking honeymoon next pay day. Sent out the save the dates. Going dress shopping in a few weeks, can't wait!

We're hoping to get married on the 4th. So far we have my dress, a BM dress, part done save the dates and materials for the invites.

Going BM and wedding dress shopping next weekend - excited!

Next to sort are florist, night before accommodation and wedding rings! Is it weird that I'm probably even more excited about ring shopping than dress shopping?!!

Everyone's so organised! I've lost my wedding mojo at the moment so very behind ☹️

I only have the Venue (Ceremony and reception in the same place), registrar, and DJ. Been shopping for my dress the last few weekends, but nothing has jumped out at me yet.

I'm April 26th and am only now starting to feel I should be being more organised! So far we've arranged:

- venue which includes catering etc.

- photographer

- registrar

- save the dates

I'm starting to get materials together for table decorations/place cards etc. and have just contacted a florist. Next step is my dress but I'm going to wait until I'm back from holiday around middle of July. I'm keen to get our honeymoon booked too! It's certainly all starting to feel a bit more real!

Won engagement shoot.

Guest list sorted.

Save the Dates made and sent.

Got everything for DIY invites.

Got all my table decs.

Got flip flops for dancing and umbrellas if it rains.

Nah you don't need to put an rsvp on invites, they're just to let people know to save your date for their diary. I'm getting married on 21st april and will prob send mine out around start of Jan and want RSVP's back by start of March. Not definite about that yet, may see what other April brides do. Am reluctant to send them out before Christmas as people get very distracted during that time and may forget all about it or chuck the invite in the bin absentmindedly with the xmas cards.

Great day to get married NickiG1975 - April 30 is my birthday I picked our wedding date (26th) so we will be on our honeymoon for my birthday.

Hello fellow April 2014 brides. I was just wondering where you are planning to go for your honeymoon? If indeed you are having a honeymoon. We're hoping to go to Sri Lanka but nothing booked yet.

I had my heart set on Sri Lanka too but then I found out their Monsoon season starts in April. Our wedding is April 25th so not the ideal time to be going there, if it had been early April I may have chanced it but OH has pretty much said he doesn't want to risk it ☹️.

Mooshy - if you have your heart set on Sri Lanka then don't give up. I panicked when I read about the Yala monsoon but after further research it seems it is still possible to go to Sri Lanka at that time of year.

The monsoon mainly affects the south and west coasts which are the main tourist resorts. But the Cultural Triangle, hill country and east coast should all be fine at that time of year. Although Sri Lanka is a tropical country so there is always the chance of a rain shower but I have read average rain fall in May is 380mm in Colombo and only 50 on the North East coast.

We're looking at doing a mini tour of the cultural triangle and possibly going to Kandy then for our beach part of the trip, we're hoping to go to the north or east coast. I've read the seas are calm then and you can go snorkelling too.

April/May is a tricky time for holidays as lots of places can be rainy. The other places we are considering are Thailand (but you have to be careful where you go there too I think) or the Gambia.

I'm another April bride (the 13th to be precise). I think I'm getting on ok, got most of the big things done, so I can concentrate a bit mote on the fun bits and personal touches now!

I'm making my wedding cake, so doesn't require much organising. Hopefully BM dresses, wedding rings and suits next!

Mauritius is meant to be nice in May but my OH is not good at just relaxing so we need somewhere with lots to see and do

Ahh that's good to know, thanks! We do prefer to go exploring when we go away so that sounds like the right part of the country for us. Just need to convince OH that it's not off the list now! Initially he had been all for it until the monsoon thing.

Our other options are Thailand (may be too humid/hot in May for OH)

USA but he wants New York, Chicago, Boston and I want Vegas, San Francisco and then over to Mexico

Twinning something like Malaysia and Bali, which we both potentially agree on depending on price

I went to the Gambia years ago, it's really beautiful, can tug at your heart strings a little too.

Update: He still won't budge on SL, but I think I have persuaded OH to seriously consider Borneo ?, we might actually get around to booking something this week!

Borneo would be amazing. We've now booked Sri Lanka and I am so excited, we're more excited about that than the wedding at the moment. ? We're spending 6 nights at a beach hotel on the east coast and then we are having 3 nights & 4 days tour of the cultural triangle staying in an amazing hotel and then 2 nights north of Negombo in an eco lodge before we head home.

Wow you are so organised, I feel very behind in my planning. Must crack on with that now the honeymoon is booked.

I still wish he would have budged on SL, I have this crazy desire to go there. Maybe one day... For now I'll have to live it through you instead so you have to write a really good honeymoon report! haha.

I feel a bit 'meh' on the wedding planning at the moment, it seems so far away right now that I don't know what I need to do right now and therefore aint doing a whole lot. I have the venue, registrar, photographer, venue dresser, my dress, mums outfit. Working on the honeymoon as you know. Going to visit bestie this weekend so will get a feel for the type of bm dress she wants. O and OH has a friend who's a dj so he's offered his services. Need a kick up the arse for any further planning.

All I have managed so far is venue, reception venue and photographer. My friend is making our caked and another friend hopefully driving me in his nice car.

Wedding dress shopping next in a few weeks and I am thinking about ideas for invitations as I want to make my own hopefully.

How's everyone getting on? Under 8 months to go eeek!

I haven't done much over the last couple of months - been more into the smaller details, chosen the chair covers, chosen the BM dresses, done the place cards and bought my earrings.

Had our engagement shoot which was brilliant.
