Oh Victoria Belle - only just seen this. So sorry. Hope today goes well for you. Lots of positive thoughts winging their way to you.

For all out other April 15 brides - it;s getting nearer - welcome to new brides and rescheduled brides too Smiley smile xx

This week I have bought loads of ribbon and my third pair of shoes - shhhh don't tell anyone. Had a bit of a hiccup with OH and some family stuff but think we're back on track now. And made one last invitation to take to a friend in Bulgaria in a couple of weeks.

Found another tiara inspiration that I really really like and can't wait to get cracking with it Smiley smile

Just ordered a few bits and pieces for the reception. tongs, striped bags etc for sweets (just in baskets on one table, not having an actual cart) and some really cheap photobooth props (again no photobooth but fun for the kids to play with and keep them busy), and last but not least a small cardboard postbox for our wedding cards to be put into.

Cant wait for October so that we can actually book the legal paper signing and then the timing for the church blessing.

Pammy67, glad things are back on track for you x I am delaying buying my shoes as I cant decide for definite which ones I want..... I think I know, but then again Smiley winking

This week I have practised cutting the test cake. I'm making about 60 individual square fruit cakes. I got 16 from one cake so not bad. They are all marzipan and going to ice them this week and see how that goes!

We are now booked for 10th April Smiley laugh eeeh!

As for what I have organised, so far bridesmaid dresses are bought, my dress and veil are ordered and should be coming at some point in September, and got a few bits for children activity bags. And the venues and registrar are booked. Not feeling very organised really! Haha.

I was thinking January. I think most people send them 4-6 months in advance but I'm worried about ours getting lost amongst all the Christmas cards and Christmas admin/chaos. What about everyone else?

Congratulations on setting the date Helenosaurus - you now have a date twin!

Miss Toffee, please flash your invites when they are done, I love to see what people have chosen.

Regarding invitations I would say January should be fine for English weddings, ours are going out in November and a save the date email in the next couple of weeks so that people can see if they will be able to come over.

Our invitations were sent for an April 8th wedding at the end of June, beginning of July because people needed to know the arrangements so they could book accommodation and as it's Easter it can be tricky.I think it's quite difficult with an April or March wedding as you do want to avoid the Christmas card period. Our evening invitations will prob go out after Christmas as we don't need as much notice for that. Only immediate family will stay and they'll be taking over our house while we go away for a couple of nights Smiley smile So for me timing is less to with normal etiquette and is more about what timing works best for you and your wedding.

Attempted an invitation this morning and think I'm going to have to change my ideas, it's just too difficult to work with angles and curves! ☹️

Woohoo, I managed an invitation!! https://www.hitched.co.uk/chat/forums/t/457272.aspx I think once they're done we'll be hand delivering all of ours that we can, hopefully at the beginning of November!

And yay, another date twin, although if you can, change your username, we get confused with the facebook generated ones! ?

Charlinc, I just noticed you're about to get married in Austria too! :-D Where about? Let's keep in touch, maybe we can exchange experiences. Like I mentioned in another discussion, I've already found a great wedding planner - best idea ever so far! But guess talking to some like-minded people is still fun! :-)

Thanks, am so excited! I'm just finalising my invitations.... really exciting. I've been very worried about timings as I need to put them on the invite. I don't want it to feel too rushed and don't want people hanging around!

I think I've booked everything now, still need to confirm details of the flowers, and my groom needs to get his suit, but otherwise we're okay. Oh and I can't decide whether to get a chocolate fountain or not......

    Hi MsSummers,

Oooooo exciting! Yes we are getting married in Austria but slightly different as my OH is Austrian and I am now a resident there so we are getting married in a small village church and just a little restaurant for the reception, but I would absolutely love to hear all about your plans. I have just spent 2 months living in Vienna and been lucky enough to go to lots of the places that are used for weddings, and must admit a little envious of some of the venues around.

What time have you gone for? We're booked for 230pm and have been thinking about it a lot. Food is at 430pm. I didn't want people standing around for hours especially if the weather is not nice!

RMD, obviously our weather willl be fab! :-)

We are having church service at 1.45-2.45, then pictures until 3.15 at church, then there is a vintage bus to take people to reception venue (about half an hour away) so arriving at approx 3.45. There will then be drinks and canapes until 5.30 then straight through to the wedding breakfast. Hopefully the canapes will keep people going and they'll have lunch..... After the wedding breakfast there is hog roast, as well as obviously the cake and we have a sweetie table!
